  1. 461 for me, have hardly used anything else since I got 1.
  2. If you realy have to use a 3 toner, could you not get some decent ramps and push the bits up onto a flatbed trailer?would be slow going though.
  3. My 127 tippers done 170 plus k, original chassis, 3rd gbox, 3rd t box, second front axle, 3rd roof!!, id like to have it until its done at least 300! A mate of mine has done 20k in 10 months in his 200tdi 90
  4. How can I go about hitching a trailer so that I can tow it while I have my chipper on the 3 point linkage? I would at least like to be able to use a ball hitch and idealy an agri type ring hitch as well, I dont think mountinb a hitch on the chipper is sensible or safe, so im guessing some sort of extension piece is needed? The first photo is my kit, and the second one is thd sort of thing I mean ( borrowed from elsewhere on AT, hope that's ok) but obviously on a bigger scale:lol: thanks, William.
  5. That's a lot of truck for the money, whichever way you look at it.

    New saw

Iv always thought to work out how many saws you need you took your current number of saws and added 1 ? But if I could only have 1 id say 461:thumbup1:
  7. My dads on his second ranger wildtrack, the 3litre engine, both the old shape very nice, plenty of power, tows its gros train weight lovley and takes a ton bag no problem, 35mpg easily.
  8. My fabricator mate made a concealed winch mount for his isuzu using a winch tray designed for a td5 discovery, looked realy good, very strong. Id defiantly try getting a quote or two from local metal workers. As for winches id look at winchmax (the orange ones) or yeti winches, both on ebay, or for a bit more superwinch or goodwinch, or for a lot more warn! Im not that impressed by the tmax or britpart ones though.
  9. I certainly wouldn't swap my log master for that!
  10. The same as you, also start to advertise, buy more big kit and work more!
  11. I ruled the 441 out when I got my 461 because the 461 was no heavier and only a few quid more.
  12. I got this from ebay for£460, its a bearcat 5 inch chipper shredder well pleased with it, i am just using it as a stepping stone to a bigger and better 1 in the long term thou. The shredder makes dealing with more tangled stuff easier.
  13. Went up the yard, split my logs, repaired the chipper, went and used it for the firsttime, well pleased with it:thumbup1: sharpened a saw, fitted a fire extinguisher in the tractor, arranged a fairly urgent call out for tommorow, had a fair few tea breaks and the went for late lunch in a pub with my mates, far more enjoyable and relaxing than staying at home:lol:
  14. 2days:lol: ill just be doing logs for the pile, repair the chipper, clear up the brash from a tree I logged on Christmas eve, so not really a proper days work but better than sitting around:thumbup1:
  15. Tommorow, cant stand all this hanging about.
  16. I bought the 18inch bar and chain when I got the saw, it fits my 390 aswell, so im sure it will get used at some point, it does go nice on the 25 though:thumbup:
  17. :Iv had the saw about 6 weeks now, not used it much but loved it when I use it, using the 25 inch bar. I ringed up this tree on Christmas eve, took no time at all and used about a third of the fuel my 390 would.
  18. Iv got a hundred quid Ernest doe voucher:thumbup:, do I spend it on something sensible and boring like a load of filters and 2stroke mix or blow it all on a bluetooth, iPhone compatible head unit for my tractor:thumbup: ill probably end up going down the middle, silky saw blade, a pocket boy and some split pins !
  19. Nice gear, feeling a bit jealous now:lol: one day! !
  20. This sycamore came downin the early hours of Christmas eve, me and my mate cut it, split it and delivered it to the owner of the woods in the trailer behind my 3060, then came back for 1/2 a ton of unsplit rings for ourselves, 3 hours work each, £180paid and a hundred or quids worth of wood for the pile, nice little bonus:thumbup:
  21. Id do it for double time, minimum of 2 hours including travel. Id do logs on Christmas day proving they wanted at least £200 worth:lol: im single with no kids tho so that probably makes a diference!
  22. Any hardwood over 2 inches can go on my logpile, mix about 10 unsplit% into most of my loads, no problems.
  23. I was had a Yamaha big bear 350 2wd, paid a grand for it from ebay, brilliant machine, towed it to jobs in a p6e then put that on the back of the quad to do the job. It got nicked thou:thumbdown:, the worst bit being that it could have been off on a job at the time it got nicked:crying: I was watching a 4wd 450 big bear on ebay a couple of weeks ago and that went for it£ 1250, a lot of quad for the money.
  24. I like cash for cash flow reasons, no discount though.im going to be doing five days a week on 30 day invoices for the best part of the next 2 months, going to be good in the long term as its heading towards 5k at the end of it, but not good for the cashflow!
  25. Tracking device, removable steering wheel, hidden fuel and battery cut ofs, pedal lock, drive it onto the drive so its harder to get away and leave the transfer box in neutral, that's what I do.
