  1. A mate of mine made one like the one above when he was in the army, he made it out of asheet of steel that he rolled himself, we burnt his old flatpack furniture in it and it got so hot it all went red and there was a foot gap between the chimney and the bottom of the flames coming out the top!!
  2. No it hasnt got a 1000 speed unfortunately, im going to get the blades sharpened and change the belt that drives the paddles, start with the simple stuff! Thanks.
  3. Ive just bought a bearcat 5inch gravity fed pto chipper/shredder, it chips well but wont fire the bits out the chute. I think that the paddles that throw the chip outhave worn down, so that chips are building up around them and clogging the outlet. I saw a video of an american bloke that had extended the paddles on his chipper(the same as mine) with stiff rubber, I was going to do this on mine and see if it makes a diffrence. Has anyone ever tried anything like this or does anyone have any other ideas what could be the problem? Also where is a good place near hertford to get the blades sharpened, and what sort of money should I expect to pay? Thanks, william.
  4. Quick update, I drilled out the muffler a few months ago, then I screwed up the carb settings trying to get it to run right:thumbdown then I left it in the shed for a few months. Last week I dropped it of at a local garden machine shop, they tuned it up, replaced the plug and filter, repaired the back case and generaly cleaned it up for a£50:thumbup1: I picked it up on Friday on my way to take out a 30ft cherry and used the saw, what an impovment:thumbup:really pleased with it:001_cool:

  6. I got a 461 from fr jones a couple of weeks ago, theres no weight difference and hardly any in cost between the 2, iv only used it once, but I was cutting with all a 25inch bar, well impressed:thumbup1:
  7. Ive put all the bits back on it after painting, had a new windscreen fitted, sorted the winch and the front and rear spots, looking good. Then I was driving home from the barn and... someone skidded into the front of it:thumbdown: It was a 62 reg vw estate, which is now missing a wing, headlight and bonnet, while my truck has a couple of scratches, thank god for 5mm steel bumpers:lol:
  8. Iv got a kat 1 and a non Kat 1, the front of the kat 1 gets a lot hotter, worried me a bit at first, I prefer the older 1.

  10. Progress being made, the windscreen is being refitted tommorow, the wheelarches and snorkel are back on and the winch goes back on tomorow:thumbup1: but I have got to take the tipper motor back to the reconditioning place again as its packed up after less than 100 tips:thumbdown:
