  1. Thanks for posting but I found one a few hours after I put this up and have not had chance to go online since, cheers, William.
  2. Does anyone have a quad for sale, ideally less than £2500, I ideally in the south east and ideally yamaha or Honda . Thanks, William.
  3. My mate always used to tie his on as a back up to the sticky pads, then he tried to pull one off the pads off, now he doesn't bother! Mine has traveled miles on and off road on the roof of my tractor withou bouncing off.
  4. I have the hero h3 black (I think!), to me it's worth the extra as you can control and watch it with an iPod/phone etc, which stops you getting a load of films of the sky/ground, and you can watch it back and delete the rubbish without using you computer.
  5. A bit more work has been going on with my land rover reacently, it passed its mot with no trouble,I have changed the seats for standard ones, with ex moor trim real tree seat covers, the which now has a plasma rope and is powered by an Anderson plug now, giving me the option of useing jump leads out the front end, the rear prop has been replaced, the cab has been sound proofed, a raptor engineering glove box is in the dash, a van vault is on the back, britax LEDs on the bumper and bulldog wheels pacers have made a massive improvement to the turning circle .
  6. If you have a look on eBay someone is currently selling these britax lights for 16 quid each including postage. Me and a mate both ordered a pair on Thursday night, we got them Saturday morning.
  7. One off my customers has had 3 or 4 of these troopers, the last one had over 180k trouble free on the clock. Based on this I bought a swb van for £700 early this year, it was only supposed to be for a tempory run around but I endeed up doing 12 k in 6 months . It drove like new but looked a complete heap! I recon 3.0 troopers are the best value 4x4 you can get, if I need to I will buy another without hesitating.
  8. Does anybody know if the rear propshaft from a td5 130 will fit on a 1990 rear drum braked 130? Thanks
  9. Made some progress over the summer with a couple of trailer loads of split standing dead oak and beech and a couple of tonnes of elm and Hawthorne There would be a bit more on the pile but I have already sold £1000 worth to one house, less than 200yards from the barn!
  10. Hertford tescos Brushcutter.
  11. Had to make a quick stop on the way to splitting a load of logs the other day, only took up 3 or 4 spaces:001_cool:
  12. Going back to the original truck, it currently looks like this:
  13. I used a1.5 ton yanmar on this big field hedgerow tidy up, i spent about 2 days felling, bundleing and burning tons and tons of brash from the hedge, then pulled these 2 big lumps up and loaded them onto the truck. I probably pulled the logs about a hundred yards up a muddy hill and then pulled a stuck 16 ft trailer up the same slope, its amazing what you can do with a small machine.
  14. Nice one, i will pm you this evening to sort out some details, thanks again, William.
  15. Thats brilliant John, are you around on saturday at all? Thanks, W illiam.
  16. Where abouts are you John, and how much wouldy you want for it? Cheers.
  17. Its a 3 cylinder. i will be working for the engineer i do a lot of work for on monday, i will ask him as he has probably done it before at some point inthe last 50 years and will probably almost insist on repairing it for me!
  18. My old mf 35 has cracked its engine block, it started to overheat yesterday and when i looked it over it was leeking from a 2 inch crack in the block. What are my options for repairing it, can it be welded, is it worth trying a pour in sealent (k seal type stuff) or do i need a new block? Thanks, william..
  19. Hey??
  20. Steve iv had a ms390 for 9 years, and 6 months ago i bought a 461 with 18 and 25 inch bars, its like night and day difference, much better performance and much better fuel consumption too. If i could only have 1 saw it would be the 461, i compared it with a 661 in the shop but decided the 461 would be more usable.
  21. I agree completly about the stopping and steering being the problem, not the power, my 3.0 trooper has 50 more hp than my defender but isnt anywhere near as good with a big trailer. I think the 3.0 is a good engine, but im glad i didnt have 1 from new!
  22. Ha, mine was only about as thick as the bit to the right of you, about the same sort of height. I actually used it on something that needed it on sunday, felled a 30 inch diameter oak and a similar sized beech with it, great saw !
  23. My defender has a train of 7000kg, im not trying to start a landrover isuzu argument as i currently have 1 of each, (trooper, not pick up though), if i was picking which one to tow a trailer it would depend,: Up to a couple of tonne i would probably use the trooper for its greater manouvering ability and speed on the way home if you have dropped off the trailer, over a couple of tonne i would take the defender regardless of miles(and im talking hundreds) due to its greater weight, longer wheelbase and the fact you can shunt in low box without risking a blown up transmision.(plus it looks amazing with a big trailer:)) Imterestingly a local hay dealer/farmer has just traded in his d3 for a d max, which he has had chipped straight away.
  24. Surly the biggest problem with one of these d maxs is that althougth the towing capacity has gone up the gross train weight hasnt? As in if you tow 2.5 tonne you can have a tonne on the truck aswell, but if you tow 3.5, you cant, so you can only move the same weight in material as a truck with a lower capacity anyway??
  25. My trucks gear box has done about 40k and the transfer box has only done about 6. the chassis and bulkhead are solid, as far as im concerned, everything else is a service item! Its just the inconvinience of it not working thats iritating!
