  1. I spend about a third of my working time putting in generators, duct work and acoustic enclusures(only the unskilled bits), which is quite interesting. But I ofer think I would like to be a mobile plant mechanic, not that I ever could be.
  2. ::001_ my tipper is now on eBay Land Rover Defender 127/130 Tipper. | eBay
  3. Can you not insure it as a second or third car, limited mileage and just pop to the shops or whatever in it, my mate only pays £100 for his defender , limited mileage and all mods declared?
  4. Should just be easy stuff going through when both machines are going. I plan on me using the digger to position the rings in the hydraulic splitter while my mate runs the levers, then when they have been bust down to manageable sizes we can both do easy bits then I can do the knotty bits on the cone while he clears up a bit. It's all 3ft sycamore rings.
  5. As above, I plan to run my cone and hydraulic splitters at the same time, off my 60hp massey tommorow, is there any reason why I can't? Thanks.
  6. The trunks back at the yard. Sorry for the multiple posts but I can never seem to get more than one pic up at a time.
  7. Bigger toy required thiough!
  8. Starting to clear up a big sycamore .
  9. Helping build a bike track for some scouts.
  10. Putting the bins out.
  11. Please do somebody, it's always been high up my one day list!!
  12. Used my rsl ripper on a stump job today for the first time, that serrated back is the great! Took me 5 hours to do 6 18inch poplars as the were self set suckers that had all grown joined together at ground level but got there in the end.
  13. Spot on for me, I really do enjoy going to work at least half the time and for me a day at a country show, Land Rover show, days off reading or a nice long road trip is far more enjoyable for me than going away and having to be away for a fixed period between 2 long, sweaty days on a plane or a train:lol: I do like being away for the weekend, but only if I can have the Friday off to sort my week out! Although that doesn't usually happen- the last Friday I wen away I delivered 20 bags of logs when I was supposed to be getting ready!
  14. Its been repaired for £80, somewhat better than the local dealers quote of £550+ the vat! Thanks all.
  15. Can anyone recommend a good place for me to get a radiator for my mf3060? Or bit of a long shot, does anyone have one they would sell me? Thanks,William.
  16. Mine has been busy today, running the log splitter, loading a trailer, loading a fire and towing the little trailer.
  17. What do you use to cut them to log length? Thanks
  18. 12 bags of hardwood, was only going 500 yards though
  19. Not by me, it's by chance that I have makita not Milwaukee, I was about to buy the Milwaukee then I found my makitas on a great deal so got them. My dad has the Milwaukee stuff and it's just as good, except the grinder feels very clunky compared to the makita.
  20. I put a tub of 500 2.75 decking screws in and ran the radio all the next day with 1 4.0 Makita battery, brilliant.
  21. Makita for me, my dad has Milwaukee and they are just as good but have the slight advantage of the battery level light being on each battery, not the tool.
  22. I am doing our village fete on Sunday, mainly to sell Swedish candles but also to try and get some summer log sales, problem is I have no leaflets or posters done and no time between now and then.luckily I have a big stack of business cards.
  23. It's a question for the future really, I haven't even got any logs to do at the moment, thanks for the offers though everyone.
