  2. ms200t- will stick with these as long as pos, 044 -used daily, cant fault it, 088 -still going strong, 056 (1980) had a new carb, still in use my mid size planking mill has a Danarm 171ss (1974) I have several spare saws for parts. newer saws have come and gone in the meantime! all of these are easy to work on, spares available and simple (like their owner)

  6. redmoose, thanks for the reply. good link. I use a cordless angle grinder fitted with diamond disc to do in field sharpening (like to keep teeth SHARP), in the workshop use a green grit wheel to sharpen and send them off to have them machine sharpened. I have learnt over the last 25 yrs of stump grinding to keep the teeth really sharp. I find that you cannot get them as good as a machine shop ! had hoped to get a post with the name of a sharpener. Have found a machine shop in Dewsbury who may be able to do the work at a good price, will try them. Other than that QRMS prices probably make sense to replace instead, just hate waste!
  7. 1986 ford transit single wheel non tipper. had petrol engine removed from a ford capri, racing camshaft, tuned and fitted with huge twin choke webber carb, span the rear wheels on take off and passed a ton easily (private roads only!!). Replaced with twin wheel tipper, sadly missed
  8. use cheap finger teeth on the dosko, yer do break and sometimes bend but thats to be expected! use super tooth on the vermeer and as I have lots of spares will probably keep using them for the forseeable, when I start to run out then will probably swap to yellow jackets. So where do I get them shapened fellas?
  9. can anyone recommend somewhere to have my stump grinder teeth sharpened in west yorkshire area please? Really need to have them collected from me and sharp ones dropping of. Currently paying £107 for 20 ! rayco super tooth cheers
  10. Yer, scbk is spot on! rang insurance to check if my windscreen was covered, said yes, decided to get rid of the van so didnt claim. Next renewel it seems I have a claim on record, !!!!! Feel for anyone having their gear stolen, just had stihl blower and strimmer taken from the truck, directly behind me, whist cutting a hedge. £500 excess, £750 replacement, decided not to claim.
  11. same problem here on ms150. bought a new cap but its shallower!! wouldnt fit but did fit hedgecutters and the hedgecutter cap fitted chainsaw!! no rhyme nor reason
  12. I was using the cheaper gas packs and had problems, repairers said the cheaper gas didnt have enough lubricant properties, gone back to Paslode gas and have had no issues! Paslode 350, now 8 yrs old, says something!
  13. Hi, This is just my opinion but, get some experience at it under your belt, local authority tree inspector, do a few years and then move on.
  14. scbk, I've tried many different products over the years and we no longer have the good ones that used to work! Jeyes fluid works well but stinks, i like the smell but customers dont!!! recommend MMC Pro, it works
  15. dig it out, bloody hell, too much spare energy !! £120 as a one off, £75 if working in the area doing other stumps, obviously dependant of access.
  16. Peter Bridgemans books, my introduction 30+ years ago! There was a book, Banacle Parps guide to tree surgery, couldnt make it up, not seen it for years.
  17. simonm, where are you getting them done mate?
  18. many years ago I had a small Jotel stove, we used to close the stove down at the end of the night, lift the ring out of the top and pour woodchip in. This would be left until the next evening when I would open the flue and front vent, it would fire up and be ready for logs. The stove never went out for the winter. had no grate in it and it would go for 3 months before any ash needed taking out. This may not be recommended , I'm just saying...
  19. Bloody hell, have you been photographing my saw, no sorry wrong colour..
  20. looked up dibond, pretty expensive, prop get aluminium sheet cheaper
  21. yer, Danequip, the dosko and danequick grinders are cousins!! only thing is the cost, quoted £400 + vat for clutch 6 yrs ago!!
  22. yer, where is site, i am just up the road?
  23. Can anyone tell me where to find a parts diagram /list for the gearbox on my hedgecutters please? I have searched but... Alternatlvly does anyone know if the components are shared with any other models? bearings have collapsed and chewed the casing! I have found a spurious casing on ebay but need main gear and conecting rods. cheers
