  2. Sorry, I meant in pic 2! The one with the multiple slots for chainsawing logs to length? Looks like wood bolted together...
  3. Looks good. Is there metal in the frame that's sitting on the back of the tractor in the first pic? Not sure where you welded it!
  4. I know, but I'm wondering if I can get say 2/3 the performance for 1/3 of the price!
  5. Not compared to the eBay one at 35 quid! If I was going to spend 60 or so on the valiant I'd probably just spend a bit more and get a proper ecofan!
  6. Thanks all. Might have a punt on the cheapy ebay one, or just sit closer to the wood burner!
  7. Thanks all. Roz, I did have a search but couldn't find anything. Will try again if there's definitely a previous thread to find!
  8. Hi all Just wondering if anyone has used the cheapy eco fan equivalents, e.g.Heat Powered Wood Burning Gas Stove Top Silent Eco Friendly Warm Air Fan Black | eBay If so, are they any good? I know you get what you pay for and everything, but at less than half the price of a genuine Caframo eco fan, possibly worth a try? Doesn't say how much air it moves, but those figures tend to be inflated anyway. Ecofan say that their fans move most air (Ecofan - Compare Stove Fans), but they would, wouldn't they! Anyone got real world experience of other options? Cheers. Giles
  9. Cheers CWB.
  10. Quality work. Out of interest, how slippery is the floor after finishing with the hard wax oil? The shine looks good, but wouldn't want to be skating everywhere on it!
  11. Good looking thing. I have both tractor and estate jealousy!
  12. Depends if we're talking its age when it was felled, or its age now!
  13. 527 years.
  14. Wrap a tarp round the trunk?!
  15. Wow. I'm assuming that wasn't just done with a chainsaw?
  16. Nice. What are the blue bits?
  17. Nice markings - like indicators!

    Racy day

Interesting comparison. Can I ask roughly what the mill costs, with and without the Logosol electric saw? Cheers.
  19. Thanks Mr Punk. Yes, if you get a chance to take a pic after the holidays that would be great. Cheers.
  20. I think it's winter in NZ though? Supposed to be summer here! Cold and wet.
  21. Nice bench! Any chance of a picture of the underside? Just curious how you braced it / fixed it all together... Thanks.
  22. Hi Steve I get what you're saying, but I was talking more about reabsorbing water until it's as moist as air dried wood. I imagine kiln dried would take longer to equilibrate with atmospheric moisture than air dried, but they'd both get to roughly the same state in time? Interesting to see that it is quite slow to reabsorb though.
  23. Sounds good. Any pictures? Out of interest, what chainsaw course did you do? Lantra? I was looking for some sort of basic chainsaw training without paying CS30/31 prices as I will never use it commercially.
