  1. Log burner, roast beef, avoiding taking the wheel off my car to try and find a trapped stone or something!
  2. I'm too lazy! That looks similar to the one in my first link. And some of the reviews did say that it blows the fuse in the cigarette lighter socket... Cheers, will have a look.
  3. I got a wee ginko as a wedding present this year. Hope it'll get that big in future! It also lost all its leaves in a day or two when we had the cold snap.
  4. Cheers, I had seen that, but as I said, I don't really want to mess around with AC/DC converters. Waste of energy, heat, extra faff etc. Plus they're not cheap to buy - that one costs more than the pump!
  5. Thanks, but that will only handle 1A of current. The pump I linked earlier needs 10A.
  6. Mainly for tyres, yes (and topping up rather than inflating from flat). Possibly the odd air mattress when camping etc. Realistically, it probably wouldn't be used often - so I don't want to chuck a whole load of money at it.
  7. Yep, it doesn't seem to be easy! Don't really want to have to get two compressors if I can avoid it. Maybe I can live with a 12DC option only. The ones on that website look good, but a bit hardcore for my needs I think. Cheers though.
  8. Hi all As the title. I'm looking for a decent compressor, to inflate tyres, air beds etc. But it would be good if it could be powered from the mains to avoid flattening a car battery / having to run the engine when there is access to a mains socket. Can anyone recommend one? I don't really want to mess around with separate AC - DC converters. This pump looks good [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/HEAVY-DUTY-TYRE-COMPRESSOR-INFLATOR-140PSI/dp/B005ERFIWE/ref=cm_cd_al_qh_dp_t]HEAVY-DUTY CAR TYRE AIR COMPRESSOR INFLATOR 12V 140PSI: Amazon.co.uk: Car & Motorbike@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41P9ydzWX1L.@@AMEPARAM@@41P9ydzWX1L[/ame] but it's 12V DC only. Any suggestions? Cheers.
  9. Is that a lot of grass, or a thirsty mower?!
  10. Ive used year or so old petrol in my saw and hedge trimmer. Worked fine. Having said that, neither my saw nor trimmer are particulary high end kit...
  11. I just got myself one from Amazon! Does a good job, but doesn't sit on my stove very well as the top is quite sloped. Not to worry, does spin well when I hold it on the side! Will rig up a suspension system or something.
  12. In that case I'll keep it! Don't think it is though
  13. Think I may need a bigger chainsaw!
  14. Balls. Thought so. Cheers. Chopping time.
  15. Hi all Got this little chap growing where I planted some sweet chestnuts a month or so ago. Doesn't look like a sweet chestnut to me (unless they only get the characteristic leaf shape when they're a bit older?) and I imagine newly planted sweet chestnuts shouldn't be shooting yet anyway? Could it be a tiny SC? Cheers.
  16. Wild privet? Or common privet? Nice thick hedges, good for wildlife, grow quickly, nice flowers, tough... Do have to trim fairly regularly though.
  17. I like the simple "rustic" look of those benches. Are they screwed / glued etc. together, or just slotted together for an interference fit?
  18. Mine said to put it 18" up the flue. I tried that (or as near as I could get it) then tried it at 6" up the flue. And the readings were identical. Now I leave it 6" up the flue where I can see it!
  19. Ah hah! That does look about right. And not too pricey either. Cheers.
  20. Cheers. Fair point - it wouldn't be used for carrying big things often, so no need to get a super huge trailer for the occasional job. Maybe 5 x 7 then!
  21. Nice work.
  22. Thanks, looks like a good bit of kit - might be exactly what I'm after. Do you have trouble tipping at council tips as it's twin axle? Do you need a licence to tip with it? I'm considering anything! Having said that, ifors may be too pricey for light usage...
  23. Thanks, that looks the right sort of thing.
