  1. My 545 which is near enough the same saw, has from new, been run on Aspen. Not had problems with the Aspen. However, as of late, it's been displaying the same symptoms as yours. Reckon it's the saw, not the fuel. If yours has problems already, changing to Aspen may not help.
  2. Man that's a bad deal. The scum have no respect for the property and lives of others. I hope you get back on your feet soon and that they don't come back again.

That would make a great cracker joke. But it made me laugh all the same.
  4. In my experience, too many people and all too often, either don't bother reading signs or else ignore what they've just read, with a 'That doesn't apply to me' attitude. Yet these same types would be initiating organised mass protects and writing to papers if it happened to them. • Don't block gate • Please close the gate • Please use this path • Please use gate and do not climb over fence or wall • Please park with consideration • Access needed 24hrs. Do not park • Please take your litter home / with you • Please put litter / dog waste in the provided bins • Fires prohibited Do not light fires • Do not abandon cars in lane • Farm entrance only Please do not block All of the above and more have all been ignored by countless people. And if someone observes another ignoring a sign, then all too often, they will do the same without even a pause to read the sign. A memorable one, was being shouted at, for not being informed that his lowered suspension car could have its exhaust detached, if he drove over the signed and yellow painted speed ramps at 50+ mph. This was on a private road with a 10mph limit. He threatened to sue me, then the landowner and finally called the police. The police came and basically told him and his three mates, that they were jerks; didn't have a legal leg to stand on; that if it had happened on a public road he nick them; and finally he advised them to avoid further encounters with the police, (as he was sure they'd continue to break rules and more probably laws) by leaving the county that day. I later heard from the police on a separate call-out. That they did leave the county that day or the next. But not before being done for speeding twice, damaging public property and being done for threatening behaviour and assaulting a police officer. I seem to remember that they were repatriated to their home town/city and the car was impounded, (having been involved with other unspecified crimes. I'm not saying everyone has an idiot inside waiting for release. Just that I've seen a lot that are idiots 24/7 and a great many more, for whom being a jerk seems to come naturally. It gets worse when they're drunk or on drugs or accompanied by someone they feel they ought to impress, i.e. their partner, their children, their boss, their more financially successful friend.
  5. Nice colouring.

    I'm glad I'm a veggie.
  7. Not arb related but these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0185MJBCW/ref=mp_s_a_1_19?qid=1457561652&sr=8-19π=SY200_QL40&keywords=multi+cut+drills+bits&dpPl=1&dpID=51HSWBzYWUL&ref=plSrch As every time I turn up at my father's place to help him with something, all his bits are blunt and or the wrong size and or are not suitable for the material that needs drilling. But I paid half this amount and said bits will save me lots of wasted petrol getting yet another drill bit, (which said father would normally blunt while drilling anything he fancied making a hole in).
  8. Ditto.
  9. Would partly depend on whether it's got any real weight.
  10. Another fine day.
  11. Not much good for UK roundabouts but plenty of load space.
  12. Overcast by bright day. A dusting of snow on the fell bodes ill for early planting.
  13. You say the tree is on a boundary. Does that mean: a. In the main the tree except for overhanging growth is wholly within the bounds of your client's land? b. Any part of the tree's base, (excluding roots) also grows from Mr. Grumpy's land. The latter would suggest co-ownership and thus shared responsibility & liability. The former, I suggest your client buy the camper van but leaves it parked on Mr Grumpy's land. Awkward I know but Mr. Grumpy doesn't have the lawful right to even touch/move a vehicle parked on his land, without consent of the vehicle's owner.
  14. And how are you suppose to see it in bright light. Plus tapes don't need batteries.
  15. If you buy a 231, get a non-carbide chain at the same time. Unless you happen to have a grinder, as you'll need one to sharpen the supplied chain. On second thought, get a normal chain even if you do have a grinder. So when you need to sharpen in the field, you can whip the supplied chain off and carry on cutting.
  16. McCulloch 18" bar http://www.4mcculloch.co.uk/chainsaws/california/bro071-45cm-18-60-drive-link-chainsaw-bar/product.pl?pid=1830889&path=642034&refine=bar&model_ref=455050 But for this bar, it gives 60 DLs. I suppose that's down to the shape of the bar. As some other 18" bars for the same saw, give 64 DLs.
  17. I know I should vent the can on hot days... before filling. But sometimes my mind's on something else and the resultant spurt always makes me think: • You should know better • That's an expensive waste of Aspen
  18. Another dry sunny day.
  19. Mild, scattered cloud and bright.
  20. Between the 435, MS181, MS211 - I'd say the MS211; more power and less weight.

    Anyone?

Damn mix of auto-correction and a Yankie dictionary. That should have been, "indication".
  22. Brief sleet flurry this morning, then blue sky, then and now rain.

  24. Seem to be lots of people demolishing silos with nothing more that sledgehammers. Got to hand it to the build-designers. They really are good structures; and pretty easy to take down when needed.
