    Jokes???

    That made me chuckle.
  2. Warranties are worth tuppence if the dealer wriggles out of it and the manufacture backs the dealer.

    Yew timber

"Branches removed from a yew by high winds or pruning will retain their poison. Though the berries are harmless, the seed within is highly toxic. Unbroken it will pass through the body without being digested but if the seed is chewed poisoning can occur with as few as three berries." Info from: http://www.thepoisongarden.co.uk/atoz/taxus_baccata.htm

I rather think, it is the parents intention to let the children play outside without supervision or education, hence the worry of their children eating something they should not. Still think the parents need to educate, (and perhaps supervise) their children, rather than have a perfectly good tree removed.
  5. Ah-ha.
  6. If you put a stick in the gob, doesn't that just lessen the size of the gob?
  7. I'll leave Abbey out of the list.

Kids... duct tape. Apply latter to former under nose/s. Problem is then eliminated. or Educate parents to educate children. or Educate mummy & daddy to instruct nanny, so she/he can educate children. (And give nanny an allowance, so she/he can purchase & apply duct tape, where & when necessary and to whom.)
  9. Apart from the obvious excess heat, is the chain cutting ok? And is the nose sprocket free running or not?
  10. Yeah I need one of those. Will pop over and have a look.
  11. How long did it take to reach the top?
  12. Can I send you my car for a scrub-up? It needs a right good clean and you seem to be the man. Postage could be a killer though.
  13. Thanks for the prompt replies.
  14. Is there marginally less wear on the rope using it or about the same?
  15. I'm after a few spares. I only really need the starter assembly cover bolts. But thought I might as well get a few others, (rim, needle bearing, spare plug, etc.) while I'm about it, in readiness for when I do need them, save on multiple postage charges. Had a look around; 'findasaw.com seem reasonable - anyone used them? Or can recommend a place. Recently had a service done by the vendor I got the saw from. And while I was happy with their customer service, 3 of the 4 cover bolts came back mangled. As if the engineer had used an allen key a half size too small. Getting the cover off and on is becoming a major pain.

What - nothing not the roof?

    Flying chainsaw

I'm thinking, remote zombie removal. Mind you'd have to avoid the child zombies holding balloons.
  18. 3-5 trees in a six hour period - that's a lot of lugging weight and a great deal of work. It must be worth it, as they wouldn't do it if not. But hiring in the helicopter et all, can't leave much profit on each stick. Or am I completely incorrect; and what are the trees destined to become? Can't imagine pulp.

    Best gloves?

Thin red Pfanner for most stuff. Got some Stihl CS gloves and Edelrid CS gloves; wear them if I have to and they are comfy. But the Pfanner are both comfy and hard wearing.
  20. Must be in a pocket of good weather. Not much rain and no wind. Even blazing sunshine most of today.
  21. Somewhat unsettled. One hour it's chucking it down, the next it's sunny and drying.

    Avant 420?

Well that didn't go quite to plan.
  23. The one that starts when I want it to and continues to run when I need it to. Sorry. But peeved at the moment.
  24. Got a Husky 545, which was a great cutter and start on the 3rd or 4th pull every time. Until that is, after it had been serviced by the store I bought it from. Now it's still a great cutter but a pig to start cold or hot. And twice the trouble when there's a 'r' or a 'u' in the month.
