  1. Hi Guys Quick question Anyone know if employers liability insurance is required if you're a sole trader but work on a site and hire in a sub contractor? Assuming the subcontractor is a sole trader or has insurance already in place Cheers
  2. Cheers guys some good points, I suppose its just a case of playing it safe parking break on, getting off the machine the correct way and not overloading etc.
  3. Hi All Planning on getting the ticket for operating the forwarder. Anyone been through the test lately? any advice on what the assessor might be looking for and common things that one could be marked down would be appreciated. Cheers
  4. Has anyone used a second hand refrigeration unit as a kiln? something like this insulated storage container with separate compartments | eBay Looking at making one on a budget and would save on insulation
  5. What about a small diesel generator charging a few batteries when required
  6. Ye I think its a matbro if the hours are correct looks like it could be a good buy. Just seen one working on you tube with a stroke head on it.
  7. Anyone know what the base unit is on this? 2001 Keto 51 Harvester in Belgium | Agriaffaires UK
  8. Looks like an impressive setup and would have thought that's very reasonably priced given the scale of it. I've just installed the Orligno 200 by EcoAngus on the domestic RHI
  9. This setup works quite well (note the log lifter) often the timber I processes is over 4meters long. It depends on what you cut what sort of mixture hardwood to softwood do you sell?
  10. It would justify getting a tractor & processor for 22cube a week. You would get 22 cubic meter bags from 10tonne easy. Get a processor that can handle a reasonable size of log and think about a log lifter, like what you get with the Tajfun processors
  11. Been going good, how's the OSA been? Looks small next to this 1710
  12. Never heard of those levers before, but try msa machine spares i found them good value for parts
  13. We have just had our log gasification system commissioned in the house we have been renovating. Now I have just submitted the form to register for/claim RHI payments. This automatically got sent for review so I called to ask why? the response from the guy at Ofgem was because the property hasn't been lived in for the last 183 days thus needs to be metered. I've Looked at the guides and situations where a meter is required. It states you need one if the property is going to be occupied for less than 183 days of the year. This house is our new fulltime address from now on plus if I did install a meter I would have to confirm that the property the heating system is in has been occupied for fewer than 183 days of the previous year. So for next year I would be screwed! Anyone been in a similar situation? any advice would be much appreciated
  14. If its 12 year old your not going to exceed 25t/ha. Forget Pallet and fencing cuts go for SRW (firewood,Chip) Worth looking up what you'll get out volume wise, easy looked up in the FC blue book.
  15. Think they've up it to £250 but still cant imagine his neighbour will be to pleased. RHI payments must be subsidising it to some extent.
  16. Been very mild for the time of year with us. The logs are still shifting but this weeks quiet. Anyone seeing the price of roundwood/cord drop as a result?
  17. Not seen a processor mounted to a forwarder before. What sort of size log can it take up to?
  18. Demand might drop if they lower the feed in tariff in January and you'd be getting less for drying if you choose to dry using biomass
  19. Don't think that FMG will be chopping up anymore trees. You'd need a lot of time and cash
  20. Yep well said. Its easy to see who it was anyway
  21. But there's a bit of a pricing war going on in Perthshire by the looks of it. £220 for 4m3 delivered. And that's kiln dried Cant be any margin in that
  22. £7020 for this! Iron Horse 2090PW Forestry Logging Timber Skidder Forwarder Logs Lennartfors | eBay
  23. Thanks for the reply's guys. It was a distance of approx. 110miles I quoted £60-£70 via pallet firm. Will call via the local haulage firms if the customer is keen.
  24. Why are they not paying you on delivery or within 28days of invoice? How is it getting sold by the tonne has he got means to weigh the timber? Never bought timber by volume its always on the tonnage shown on the lorry weight link.
