  1. Ye the EU backed down a few months back. But who's going to pay for every tractor on every farm to go through a mot? oh and every trailer, mower, digger etc. etc. Think it would have to be a free test for agricultural machines curtsey of the tax payers
  2. Went to Wilsons on Saturday was good to see what the Lasco splitters were like. The Posch equipment was processing very straight and small diameter Birch so non the wiser how it preforms on normal sized stuff
  3. Do the Bruunetts have joystick controls or leavers ? that one at Landmark is wasted must of been sitting there for at least 10 years?
  4. didn't upload them that time
  5. few other oldies
  6. Hi Matty
  7. eh good point would need to double check that, but our one is a 4cyl 4000 base model. Might just be a Highlander? will take a closer look tomorrow and remember to take a photo too. I thought some of the bigger James Jones conversions were Highlander Bear, likes of the 1164's
  8. Is Wellingtonia any good for milling? Was thinking of removing some but thought nobody would have a use for it
  9. The 764 will do about 20mph on the flat and its not the worst I've driven. The biggest issue is the extra weight of the crane and all the guarding that slows it right down on the hills. Id go for a 1164 or 1174 little more power although I think a big engine will be getting dropped into the 764 at some point. we also have a Highlander Bare based on a 4000 (same as county) that's fine on the road but light. Countys are great to work in the woods and very manoeuvrable if you know what your doing and most importantly easy to fix
  10. Hi All I was on an Estate by Strathtay, Perthshire the other day which has quite a bit of softwood available. Its from windblow and most of it looks quite seasoned. From what I'd seen its in clumps round the Estate ranging from 4-8 tonne. probably a few lorry loads in total. I've got no use for it so if anyone's interested in it PM me and I will pass on your details
  11. A few of ours
  12. Never used the stuff, oily rag and a lighter normally gets the old stubborn buggers going
  13. Anybody know anything about SCHLANG & REICHART Winches? Seen one the other day think this model was a 231 2R-554. From what I gather they are Dutch and there's not much in English about them
  14. I'd say the vast majority of small woodlands will cost you far more to manage than you'll get back. If you can produce your forest plan and fell and extract your timber then it might make a small return depending on species and quality. There are tax advantages if you are going to pass something to the next generation then woodland is a fairly safe bet, unlike property or cash.
  15. Never! keep it old:thumbup1:, our new John Deere's will throw up countless sensor faults, but I suppose they are fast and comfortable on the road unlike the county's
  16. There cannot be much room in the 3080 for a swivel seat? have you thought about selling off one of your existing tractors and getting something better suited? even our old 5k county works great with the roof mounted crane and you can just manage to pick up logs in front of you so very handy to minimise manual handling.
  17. Well its fast grown whatever it is, could it be a Locust tree? what about using paint to seal it?
  18. You will most likely pay by the tonne, the lorry will have a weight link on it. Sounds expensive I charge £38.50 per tonne delivered. Pity your not nearer
  19. I going to start emailing them and get some windups on the go. Not from my main email address of course
  20. Ye I know what you mean I bought an old rat of a harvester a few years ago, to many issues with it so sold it to some Polish guy. I'm just sticking to the chainsaw for now. Had a look at your website some interesting machines from over the years
  21. Could you not under cut them if you bought timber standing then harvest it yourself?
  22. Surely ebay must be able to do something to prevent all the scams that appear on a hourly bases. This one is being done by the same person who must be able to hack into accounts 1174 Ford County 4WD Tractor with front linkage + snowplough | eBay It's always the same text, every time!! just a different email address and its mostly with tractors or plant. Annoying how there seems to be no stopping them
  23. few close-up's And a few of the even older mill.
  24. That looks expensive
  25. Will take some over the weekend. It was mostly used for cutting fence posts and occasional sleepers. It fires through the wood at some speed.
