  1. Its been a expensive month otherwise I would of probably would have bought it by now
  2. Anyone know much about the Patu stroke heads? I see there's plenty of people watching this one on ebay. Forestry Timber Patu Harvester Head | eBay
  3. I am in the process of buying another processor and the guy who's selling it also offered me a fuelwood 200 kindling machine which has the rotary bagger. £4000 and looks like new. The lack of use plus seeing low prices in asda, B&M and other places has put me of doing kindling
  4. Thanks, its all the functions on the leaver, give it a good tap and it works fine. Will hopefully get a look at it tomorrow before putting it back to work. Will get back to you and let you know what's needed, if its not sold
  5. Ye if they are the same boxes Are you selling as a job lot or individual parts ?
  6. What type of boxes do you have? The controls usually work find but the right hand box sometimes needs a knock, then starts working again.
  7. I know just ordered a load of seals of JD who sent them from Sweden, the more you look the more you need. I knew when I bought the forwarder this job needed doing just been putting it off as jobs keep popping up for it.
  8. The reason your not hearing about it is because its that widespread, its pointless keeping track or reporting new cases. We planted a lot of ash, 80% is affected .
  9. Was thinking of doing the same as I have to keep nocking on the right hand IPS box on the 1210. Currently have the rear bogies and diff in bits so electronics will probably be the next job. There's always a to do list:lol:
  10. This one sounds reasonable and with tracks and chains Valmet 840 Scotland Forwarders, Price: £28,000, Year of manufacture: 1999 - Mascus UK
  11. Even if its just a 30 - 40 mile round trip your currently doing a 8 tonne load would never pay or your haulage costs to the end user would be far to high. A wagon and drag is the way forward if your prepared to invest in a lorry and all the hassle that goes with it. Even with 25-28 tonne hauliers struggle to make a reasonable profit without a return load. There was someone on hear with a smaller lorry.
  12. Thanks logs I did see a lasco cone splitter at Wilsons open day but it was just making a mess, I think probably because it was on beech that was rotten and crumbling into bits. Didn't know RTS had one thought they had a massive chipper now? must of been breaking up big stuff
  13. Hi All I've been thinking of investing in a screw type cone splitter or a log cracker. Any input from would be appreciated on pros and cons of each. Basically which is best?. Base units I have available for a splitter include; 8t, 14t & 18t excavators and also the forwarder a Timberjack 1210A. This is what I've been looking at so far. Hydraulic Log Cracker Hydraulic Cone Splitters Cheers
  14. Did the Valmet 701 ever appear in the UK forestry? This site has some old videos of forestry machinery Valmet 701 Cleaning 1993 | Doovi
  15. always handy being able to reach over the back of the trailer, looks a good set up. Take it your not using that international to haul it around:lol:
  16. sounds interesting, do you know if its got much life left in it? And what head its got?
  17. This looks like an interesting setup, anyone seen one before? 1996 Bell TH 100 Harvester in France | Agriaffaires UK
  18. I started out with vented bags but they were .85m3 and wanted to sell by the cube bag so have been selling by the standard non vented bags. I phoned this firm looking for a local supplier and was surprised at the prices so bought 50 standard bags and 100 vented. Looking at investing in some large polly tunnels like this 21ft Wide Premier Polytunnel / Greenhouse Poly Tunnel Polythene Cover Cloche | eBay and store the logs in the vented bags. Should help speed up the drying time Didn't fancy being tied up with a biomass fuelled kiln
  19. Bought cubic meter bags from this firm they were made to order and only about £5 and probably the best I've used to date. Also I was running about an hour late to collect them but the manager was happy to stay behind on a Friday, so good customer service too Location | Dundee Bulk Bags | Bulkbag Containers
  20. Anyone using motion sensor cameras? I bought a couple of the wildlife ones and they were fairly cheap think about £140 each
  21. Thanks guys, that's good information and helped clear things up
  22. Sorry £252 inc vat
  23. Sat it today and all went fine. I got it done by Donald Maclean and would recommend him. Was under £250 for the assessment
  24. Exact same thing happens to the older machines too. I replaced my one quite some time ago and dealer said the previous owner was always breaking the pipe on it.
