  1. Your post suggests maybe you should be giving advice rather than asking for it! I was lost after 3rd line, but that's probably just me, lol.

Good advice, thanks , yeah just cutting for myself, don't come across too much big stuff, but don't want to knock the stuffing out of my saw. Think having two saws would probably be wise anyway. Cheers again for advice much appreciated.

A new bar and chain would be £40-50, so maybe a2nd hand saw might be worth thinking about.

Thanks, guess I need to upgrade then! Don't cut a lot of bigger stuff and am only cutting for my own use, big wood burner in the house, wife thinks wood grows on trees, cheers for the advice, any cheap stihls about 60cc anywhere?

I thought it was even less 48-49cc, so no chance then! What cc are you needing for 20" would you say?

Hullo folks, newbie here, using what I guess is an oldish saw, it has a 15" bar on, wondering if I could put maybe an 18" or 20" on for the bigger fallen timber that I occasionally cut up? 90% of the time 15" is fine. Cheers for any advice.
