  7. I bought some once, there in the shed somewhere, just use good quality Lidl/Aldi work gloves these days padded and thermal, still a good grip with no ill effects.
  8. I think (after 20 yrs in the music industry and 16 yrs on the tools) that its certain frequencies you need to reduce rather then the overall noise level. The Threshold of pain is about 120 decibels so a lot of equipment, saws, chippers get to about that. I use of course chainsaw helmet which blocks out 90% of sound and Lidl ear defenders with FM Radio on rest of the time, I can still hear people call to me with those on whilst saving my hearing. Anyway at my age I am selectively deaf..... whats that dear shopping ....

I was warned by my insurance company to check before I bought one wether a 4x4 pickup is regarded as a commercial vehicle or not, thus needing commercial insurance, some are some aren't I forget which attract vat and which do not, maybe someone else can advise us? At the moment the van is insured as normal including business use as I do not carry goods. I am looking to go from van to 4x4 just to carry tools and a bit of chipper towing.

  16. I am currently wearing V12 boots about £69, the is another post on here about them, 9" " tall, lace up but with a zip on the inside, so easy on/off, very soft, shin pad on the front,steel toe cap, although no chainsaw rated works for me rest of the time
  17. Getting the Xmas decorations down from the loft, not been up in the loft for 2 yrs! was ok no spiders
  18. I used to run my smiley Transit on a 10% vegetable oil/diesel mixture, engine ran quieter, better acceleration through the gears, cheap price for the oil (back then). V power out now seems to do the same but also of course cleaner.

  20. I have used a number of ride ons over the years, all were on site when I got there, really all depends what you local dealers are able to support in the end. Countax C800 Petrol on for medium lawns, brush, cut n collect Countax 2050A Petrol use this on pony paddock as well, brush, cut n collect on fine lawns Iseki SXG19 3 cyl Diesel 50cu collector amazing! great with leaves, on tarmac as well John Deer X320 Mulcher, Petrol, use this 5hrs at a time mowing, 15 litres of petrol,24 months old no breakdowns! Haytor Hydro 72 (for the animal in you) So its a bit of this and that really, some diesel, some mulcher, am sure one make must do it all.

    <p> I hope you have someone for Wed 25th by now, sorry I can't help on that date but as from 1st Dec 2015 I will be available Wed/Thurs/Fridays in future if your stuck for a groundie (all be it an old one) I don't climb and have no knowledge of rigging but am good with a ground saw, blower, chipper. Also my licence covers me for 7 tons and towing. I live in Eastbourne but work at Estates in Copthorne Mon/Tue/Sat so am used to travelling.</p>
