  3. just a thought and if it works he takes it and plays up. how about filling it with aspen 2 try it get it running sweet. and let him use it with aspen. if it runs then it could be his mix. it eliminates your 2 stroke and his. and charge for the can for him to take away plus your time. could be as simple as that either his mix is to lean or too rich.
  4. 5th/6th may countryside show netley marsh southampton 18th of may sparsholt college countryside day arb section.

  7. since posting got better hedge trimmer that was thrown in with lot found new petrol cap cleaned carb spark plug. used cordless drill to turn engine fired up and cut hedge kawasaki 36inch just needs a new recoil unit. so for £18 it gets better
  8. have a toro and very pleased with it has side discharge or collection but yet to use it mulches fine and leaves stripes so it looks good if i was to buy a bigger model i would look at a diesel one. if kubota are near you then kubota will not go wrong. as for high discharge heard good and bad about them. but as for discharge side all the time. rear discharge make a mess more like a hay field.
  9. i normally do not talk politics on forums but thursday is local elections for county. not for parliament. i vote for the lady who has been our local county council the last 3 times. i vote for her because she does a good job i can see what she has done. so she gets my vote. not because she is a member of any party. and thats how it should be for town and county elections. are they local so know what is going on. party politics should stay out of local elections and based on how good or bad a job they have done. so there are a few on the county that should be put out to grass. getting 3k gold taps put in the big wigs wash room
  10. went to a farm sale yesterday saw 3 strimmers in a lot two just scrap and a honda stick with its cover missing and pipes out of carb. now having a honda which after 10years had come to its end as shaft had broken and cover on front was worn i though i can get bits off that one and make a good one. so bid and paid £18 got it home put pipes back on filled with fuel cleaned plug and away it went. started to get hot and started playing up knew what that was got a new plug fitted and working fine. 2011 model for £18 plus £3 for plug to buy new £300 plus what a bargain. now have a very good stick strimmer to go with other honda strimmer.
  11. depends how much you can afford. but if i was starting from scratch i would go the biomass boiler route makes all the heat and hot water you want. and if you can get cordwood for nowt cheap heating farm heat or dragon are two who sell them. or LPG gas tank cost nothing for tank just got to get trench dug for pipe and get a lpg boiler i have a remeha very good boiler lpg at present 43p a ltr use 3000 ltrs a year for cooking and heating. or underfloor heating like a mat with wires running through lay it on boards and put wooden floor on top. solar can do electric and hot water. at end of day how much have you to spend. if i had 7k spare biomass for me

  13. depends on its pounds per square inch if its under 12psi then its a air gun if its over 12psi then you need a firearms licence and the local firearms officer is not going to let you have it for shooting line up trees. can you see it local tree surgeon arrested for having firearm in a public place. be it air gun or firearm think not is it worth being shot to get line up tree think not

  18. you have as much chance of the job centre helping you get your cs tickets as seeing a pink pig fly. tried when i was made redundant. had to be unemployed for 6 months and had to go on their courses to get back in work. 2 mins in office walked out never to go back useless
  19. is there a web link for them sounds interesting as for old tools all my hedging tools are old going back past the second world war. they keep there edge cut brill. unlike some of the modern stuff which is profile cut then ground to a edge. all i can say there rubbish apart from grunfos axes as good as any of the old tools still made the old way and sharp. love mine. i still keep looking for old hand tools never have to many

  21. saw the first swallow on the 11th which is a bit early around these parts normaly a week later. but going towards houghton nr stockbridge saw a flock aprox 30 sitting on the telephone wires flew off as i got near and went hunting along the test, still to hear a cuckoo. getting worried is there voice becoming a rare thing now. though i would of heard one on the test with all the warberlers nesting in the reeds. over that way next week will have to keep a ear out for one
