some very good jobs any customer seeing your work need not go elswere for the job top class. you would win a gold at chelsea with your work. out of interest what did you lign the pond with did you use clay. and the walled garden by any chance was it in Hampshire looks very like a job i was on and that looked good.

if you are going to use in saws then just use aspen i switched between pump and aspen my echo was a pig i now only use aspen nothing else and it runs brill. i find my saws run far better on it. have to prove they run longer but look like they do. next is ride on just got it. running on pump at present when its empty will run on aspen 4 and see what difference it makes.

i went to the tyre place the other day re new tyres and they had cooper tyres and i believe they were ST will check my facts but cheaper than the BF. and 4x4 police using them now as a good tyre off and on road. so looking at going down the cooper route when i need a new set if i am correct approx £90 a tyre including fitting. will go to comercial tyre place and do some proper finding out re coopers. be cheaper than place in town with 3 letters

reading post about harris hawks becoming wild what bird would they breed with. unless one came across a rare meeting of another harris. so assume they must be loners but good hunters of rabbits and plenty of them to have. if they did breed with a buzzard i assume you would have a hazard: hawk:thumbup:

on tonights programme is a piece on charcoal burning but the clever bit was the wood is up on a steep hill so have put in chutes to slide wood down to bottom. worth a look recording it so will se the full bit.

re pointing of slabs as most of you do make it damp then spread into joints and trowel in with a bucket handle. now the debate i lay slabs on sharp sand cement mix. others say lay a hard base wit either cement dobs i hate or a thin mix of sharp sand cement. i think its a waste of time putting down a hard base if using harp sand cement mix thick enough do not lay many slabs but thats the way i lay them any better idears to my way. be good to know from those who do it a lot.

friend had a boat in dry storage in Southampton only a 16ft cabin cruiser but that was a millstone round there neck had to get the tides right to launch same coming back in. had to wash outboard in fresh water to stop the salt corroding inside of engine. they gave up and sold it. moorings around these parts need to be a rich man to have one £10 plus per foot a month. another friend is lucky he works in a marina so can keep his boat moored. has some fun in it. but not a cheap game fish finder,emergency kit,vhf radio,lights. plus keeping bottom clean and engine serviced. cheaper to charter a boat with a bunch of friends. have a good day and hand the boat back to the skipper at end of day

that bit was the worse bit. the hazel was trying to get to the light and had gone up and twisted in a 180degree turn to reach the light when we laid some the top was sticking out some 10ft to the side made for interesting pleaching up the length of stem to bring in. re laying back even though there was a lot a lot was hanging outside so unable to bring back in plus growing in side of main stool so what we had we took back to build up hedge. be good to see what it is like end of this year. and next summer after growing. thats it for the season apart from a show to demonstrate at be autumn time before it starts again. need to find some hedges to lay for new season. if i could get one keep us busy for 3 seasons. over 3 miles long. but its the cost and lack of grants.

you have your cs tickets that's a start. go to the local council find out who does the grass cutting etc. see if you can get a seasonal job with them looking at present for people to cut the grass. will not need a car you can start to earn some money so you can get you licence pay for a little run around then you can start asking local arb boys if they need a hand. or you have the grass cutting work to keep you going until you can get a foot in door. its hard without a licence but there are jobs that you can do until you can get that licence. as for pest control. you will find it harder than arb. to get baits, etc at a right price you will need your certificates. as for shooting once again farmers not keen on strangers you need to get to know people who know farmers. and most do it as a hobby not a paid job. the comercial sector is done by the big company's with all he public liability. sorry to paint a gloomy picture but just being honest. go to council see how you get on. let us all know how you get on. its hard with no money. good luck

try greenland insurance find them very good. have navara,dog van, plus wifes and daughters cars all any driver over 25 and all covered for claims give them a try also do my business insurance for landscaping and coppicing. plus all my tools and tractor

had one many moons ago if it has the rotavator part with it then get it cracking rotavator. as for the chipper it does discharge on ground. has a chute for brash and sticks in top but be wary when pushing in top as i found out to my cost pushing in with a large bit of wood my hand went in took top of thumb nearly off. and was not quick if you want it for a profesianal machine then look for a proper chipper. the BCS are for the hobby boys

thanks digga thanks for comments. was a pig hedge. but satisfying. had many a comment on how better the recreation ground now looks because of hedge. talking about having two other hedges laid around rec. one is a new hedge other is a realy old thorn flailed to bits. and big and on a bank o fun with car park below used by the school. that will be short days

at last been able to download pictures of hedge we have been laying finished today. was a right hedge to do barb wire stock fencing grown in chain saw fodder. stools 20 inches plus across with stems up to 5inches around but in my humble veiw looks good now what they do with the brash pulled out must be 12ft high and 20ft long make a good bonfire on november the 5th

have a bit of laburnum i cut down only about 2inch dia. and a bit twisty in places but if any one local is interested will keep and not throw on outdoor fire. its about foot long
