    Moto GP

i do like moto gp but for real racing on proper roads then it has to be the TT to be able to ride a bike at them speeds on normal roads with wet spots under trees you have to be a very good rider. look forward to see i hope on ITV4 again this year good coverage.
  3. interesting re blackthorn never encountered a problem with blackthorn spreading have to say i do like blackthorn i treat it with the respect it deserves as the thorns are nasty and can be painful and sore for a few days if pierced. but makes a nice thick stock proof hedge if looked after and not flailed to death by the tractor but sadly many a hedge has been flailed to death by inexperienced operators of side arms on tractors. and not been able to grow and make a cracking hedge and save the expense of having to use fencing.
  4. thanks for input lot of plants to think about and with some and blackthorn who would want to climb fence and land in that lot:crying: be a good sideline planting these types of hedge to stop people getting in to properties even if they tried to cut through be bloodied by the time they did get through have plenty of dna.
  5. have to admit its going back many years nicked my leg with my old oleo mac cutting through a fallen tree. underestimated and it cut through and came back lucky had mt chain saw trousers on stopped it dead. and full of kevlar. since then never use saw without my trousers and i am very careful how i cut stuff now learnt my lesson. as for hand saws. a few cutting end of stool on a cut pleach and saw has slipped getting hand only minor. bill hook did me more damage 7 stitches in hand. became infected and unable to work for a week. as i say and did not do teach me cut away when using a sharp tool.
  6. someone who made them used hemp rope put in the slits to aid burning. i am going to have a go have a show coming up in may, be a nice sideline selling these may get more orders for them
  7. very accurate with the nails have to see the finished project and how long will it stand up.
  8. total drivel i am a Precariathat what ever that is my taste in in music i like folk music, cajun.blue grass.this tells a story no mention. most music including some jazz but does not rock my boat . i read all about the 17th century. and have done ballistics on how much damage a cannon of a certain size will do on a castle and like. have done comparison tests on the speed of a long bow to a musket. and acrecy over certain ranges. i lay hedges coppice, do a job as a parish lengthman. do landscaping have to price up jobs. who ever dreamed this survey up must be so far out there not in a real world like 99% of us:confused1:
  9. i have a customer with a smallish garden who wants to plant a hedge, one for security. 2 when the fence rots they have a hedge. now i plant native hedging mix Hawthorn blackthorn. plus others. now we have gone for blackthorn against fence as its has nice thorns. also interplanted dog rose for the rose flower. any idears for hedging with colour, flowers or berries. though of spindleberry. will not use maple. or hazel as grows to big hawthorn good but has not much in the way of above any suggestions appreciated
  10. as in my previous post lay it south of england style it will grow mad from the sides and fill right out so will have a cracking hedge in a couple of seasons. out of interest were abouts in country are you. more than happy to give you details of a local hedgelayer. getting late now will need doing september onwards. but do not grub it out for a new hedge cost of doing that you will have it laid
  11. heard that new saws had chips fitted which the dealer pluged a unit like in a garage they should put all the customers details on the chip if it is nicked then if its taken to a dealer it will bring up the owners details if different to who took it in then dealer should be contacting police. if you look he is in the usa
  12. for a good steak season with salt and pepper, then give it a good hard hit all over with a steak tenderiser hammer, put it on a griddle best and cook both sides just look at it when it looks just right brown outside bit pink inside one good steak
  13. lay the hedge can lay privett. then put stakes in and bind top will grow nice and strong. south of england style
  14. the one i used had a 24inch bar and it was flying. thought the 576 went but againts the 372 no contest. looks like it will be a 372 and 550xp as my two saws. get rid of echo and 576.
  15. read the pros and cons of saws what is a good one and been a lot on the 50cc upwards. now i have a 576xp cracking saw but a brute. working today with a fellow arbtalk member and used his 372. what a saw converted. light. easy to start easy to use. and this is as big as my 576 now i used one that would be the saw of choice not the 576 got a good mind to sell the 576 and get one.
  16. good for kindling shame its a bit far i would come down and take a load.
  17. if you want a good paint for wood then johnson paints do a timber paint any colour nearly its acrylic it goes on like emulsion and brushes or rollers wash out in water do bus shelters with it and it so quick hardly any mess no spray drift and it lasts and its£35 per 5ltrs sadolins £80. cuprinal about £40 no brainer. my bungalow is going to be done in it but as a large area will use a airless sprayer. will do it in two days save using bitchimin and getting covered in the muck
  18. if you read the tech details it uses a lot of air. as other posts you need a road compressor it will eat air to run it up to speed. and price of it i bet its not cheap. plus the hoses. better off getting a petrol saw.
  19. there is a good one was on youtube. 360 picking up fresh eggs without breaking them. thats skilful use of levers. bet son in law could do it makes a 360 sing. does what i can do in a hour in 10mins. try and get some photos up of a landscaping job he did in a garden
  20. even double bunded tanks are not safe using cordless drill with core cutter drill hole pipe in fill up and let go on ground so poor sod has the EA on there back and a clean up bill. someone has to come up with a tank that can not be got into. eg kevlar lined so it be bullet proof. but at what cost. still construction firm kept having there red nicked from bowser so they got a container and put it inside. they came along with gas cutter cutting through container cut through bowser lot went up he ended up in hospital with 1st degree burns. and a jail sentence afterwards.

  24. i only sell to customers wood that is above 6" dia and is split any smaller i keep and burn on my log burner. but its a pain to cut up. but to sell small stuff which is a stick to a 80 year old is beyond the pale. diddling the OAP,s just because they do not know is wrong. i could not sleep at night. i try and treat all customers the same the right way. they then come back and pass on my name to others.
