  1. Hi, I’ve got a cpl (socage) a314. It recently had a hose blew and got this replaced by the local hydraulic place and a few other parts that needed changing but few weeks later after that it seems to have lost its power. Sound like it’s really struggling then when I brought the machine down one day it spewed oil out the filler when it had bubbled in the tank. Now have I got an air leak, wrong oil or is the pump on its way out? The pump when the pto is off does make a metal spinning sound sometimes so don’t know if clutch is gone for the pump. It’s running off a hilux if that makes a difference. Hopefully someone can point the right direction before I have to send it to be fixed. Thanks Tom
  2. Just get a compact tractor with a loader. 30-50 hp compact should have relatively good lifting power on the loader and the deck will be more than enough for what they would want.
  3. The reclaim on all previous big purchases should out way the loss you’ll make on the 8 weeks of work. Plus from now on all purchases you make will be 20% less and it’s surprising how much it all adds up when it comes to the end of the quarter. You’ll be fine just a new learning curve!
  4. My local dealer told me you’d be lucky to see it till February now.
  5. I have 2 ifor Williams plant trailers. I know there are better plant trailers out there but you can’t beat the resale value of a ifor. Barely lose the vat when it comes to resale
  6. I run 2 of them one is 2 years old the other a month old. Really good brush cutters the 2 year old one had a gearbox straight away upon using it. But husky fixed that very quickly. They are really good on fuel as well will do an extra 20 mins compared to a 535rxt which is surprising as the same size fuel tank. I use mine more as a strimmer than a brush cutter but the balance xt harness is the best harness out there and will spread the weight of the machine lovely. Also my harness is not about 6 years old and no signs of giving up. Only negative thing is the handle bar mount is weak and if dropped or knocked hard will snap the mount. I keep these as spares as I do at least 1 a year. Could be me or just a weak part in the system.
  7. Got to be a difference somewhere as I get an extra 60 miles to a tank using shell standard diesel then if I fill at the supermarkets I get a lot less to a tank. This is the same for my father as well who has a petrol car.
  8. I had a custom with the 2.2 it sounded like a tractor when cold but soon drops off once warm. Also they sound rough when on idle if they go into regen sounds like a blowing exhaust on idle

    which pole saw

If only couple days a year 100% get battery. I prefer battery pole saws to petrol anyways
  10. Uses the same deck as a g18. 4wd so would be handy if you need that plus having it take it self out of 4 wheel drive when turning it almost turns back on itself. I think the g18 runs a more heavy duty transmission but the one I used to use had over 1000 hours on it and all that went wrong was the bar that connect and disconnects the 4wd.
  11. Is the west coast muffler worth it then?
  12. I’ve got the 580bts husky back pack blower and I love it. Prefer to my mates br700 but never used a 800 so can’t comment and I only ever used the echo once many moons ago.
  13. My blower was brand new first fuel it ever had through it was aspen. Dealer tuned it there but never seemed right. Then one day ran out of aspen so put pump petrol in and ran so much better. More power and more responsive. I’m not a hater of aspen as I really wanted to like it as I would of swapped top handles and hedge trimmers to aspen but this has put me off slightly.
  14. I bought a husky 525 hand held blower was going to run it on aspen and it just didn’t like it. Sent back for a retune was never right. Back on pump fuel ran really well.
  15. Wish they sold heated handled brushcutters over here also
  16. I get Timberwolf ring me once a month as well as my local greenmech dealer so not just forst with the constant ringing. I’ve got a year old forst 700 hours on it and no major brake down at all. Paint work is all in tact and just bought another st6 second hand and is fine also. I hear just as many issues with timberwolfs and greenmech as I do forst nothing is made like it used to be.
  17. I have a forst tr6p and now a second hand st6 not one has put a foot wrong. Paint and welds are all holding up fine only rust is from where the machine has been hit against something not forst fault. Did have a small relay issue but wouldn’t call that a fault as it didn’t stop the machine working just a bugger to start. There parts backup are spot on ring at 3pm they are still there next day. Parts are reasonable as well. Ran a Jensen before and parts was expensive and also a wait for them. They chip like animals and I follow the service manual and generally look after the machines which in turn look after me. I’ll always use forst never change to other brands. But you’ll only ever hear the bad they are selling more chippers than any one else. Just look at Ford rangers sell the most but you also hear about the most problems yet people still buy them.
  18. Oregon nozzles fit the stihl can. I use stihl fuel nozzle and Oregon oil as I always snap the stihl oil ones for some reason
  19. Or buy a petrol and the engine will never start when hot as it always causes vapour locks so you end up leaving the thing running all day. We are going backwards not forwards
  20. 462 hands down beats the 572. Stihl is lighter, spools up quicker and holds on better full bar in the cut. I’ve had my 462 for 2 years now and not a single problem. 572 is a nice saw but just feels really heavy
  21. Mine would start and as soon as you touched the throttle would just die. New carb and was fixed. Saw was a month old.
  22. They are right almost all issues are now sorted. Will still get the odd few but that’s just machinery. Mines a tr6p year old and no issues other than a engine issue but that was sorted quickly. Forst are a good bunch of guys they will admit they have/had problems and won’t ever run down any other manufacturers. There service is really good. I can order parts at 4pm and they will still be at my doorstep the next day.
  23. The blade design is no different to Jensen. The blades are exactly the same. Considering Jensen have been running the same design since I was probably born. It can’t be that bad of design. Thing is people don’t realise is a Jensen/forst flywheel is heavy compared to the others and don’t use outside draft fins to get the throw. Plus then the blades are huge compared to the timberwolfs and GreenMech. So in theory the blade only needs to hit something it shouldn’t and can cause a lot of damage. This is something I know as I had a Jensen throw it’s blade and cost me 2.5k to get it right.
  24. Yes it was but mine was just a crank relay. Although every now and again it will struggle to start but engine issues isn’t forst fault that lies with brigs and Stratton
  25. I run a forst and only had a small starting issue when warm but was all sorted very quickly by forst. Machine chips like an animal and I wouldn’t buy any other machine. You’ll only ever hear the bad never the good. They are selling more than the other big names and end of the day they have only been going for what 5 years now and have obviously caused the whole industry to wake up. I can think of plenty of other common issues on other machines but because it doesn’t have forst wrote on the side of it no one pipes up.
