    Parkrun

my pb aint as good as 19 mins...yet! mins is 20:02, a few weeks hopefully i will be close 😃 Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  5. its not for everyone! if the job suits then happy days. if you want all day use for trimmers, hedgecutters, blowers etc, then the backpack option is whats needed (not really recommended to use with chainsaw for obvious reasons) you cant burn out the motor/cells as they have overload protection. (at least you will have if its pro worthy kit) the advantages are clear, lightweight, no maintenance, extremely cheap to run and cheaper than a petrol variant to buy. better for the environment (reduced pollution and noise), and low vibes. no one is holding a gun to peoples heads, if u prefer petrol option stick with that, but if you can change entirely to an all battery fleet you have that choice too or more likely a mix of petrol and battery. use battery where u can and petrol when you cant. still makes economical sense to have both as return on investment is so quick. Parkrun

i dont have a parkrun venue close to me so set up my own 5k route instead and created a club. 3 weeks in have 20 members! parkrun wanted 3grand to set up a pukker one! you can guess my reaction to that...second word was off! Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  7. not familiar with that one! was going to suggest its often cheaper using a genuine head as u can buy just the wearing part for a couple of quid rather than replace the entire head for a tenner ('ish)! Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  8. its the power to weight ratio that is so incredible. more than a kilo lighter than an equivalent petrol trimmer. it has no need of a clutch, bevel gear or drive shaft as the motor is mounted at the end of the shaft of course. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  9. 2.4 will fit but the cord has a huge impact on battery performance. best on 2.0 it is surprisingly powerful even on long grass but it should be considered a trimmer for tidying up lawn edges after cutting ...not the edge of a paddock etc using a backpack, will work all day and much better productivity than a petrol machine (stopping for refuel, more ergonomic, not having to start the machine etc etc) equivalent to a 25-30cc machine Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  10. what model is it for? Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  11. things have moved on already, that review is for the old battery and 2 backpack options available now too. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  12. the run time on a hedgecutter is about an hour. the cost of charging the batteries would be around 8p. as a rough guide, including the purchase price of the equivalent fuel is about 10:1 the battery price is 150, worth about 1500 in pump fuel. here is a link to a review of the trimmers... http://www.hortweek.com/Landscape/article/1174695/husqvarna-536-li-r/ Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  13. if its a 6ltr can, technically thats illegal in the uk. cant have plastic cans greater than 5ltr. are u sure its 6? Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk

    550xp or 365

i guess you can take manufacturers values to use as a baseline figure and as mentioned actual figure isnt really all that important, more about the difference. looks like an awful lot of metal work (the excess weight will have an affect) and fluid transfer will give results that are probably variable. good fun tho! looks a good effort. better than i could rustle up thats for sure 😃 Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
