  1. Just wow... You need to watch all of it!
  2. 2% wishful thinking?
  3. +1 Unless you regularly do track days in your truck!
  4. Charge as much as you think you can get away with without losing the job
  5. Gumtree is your friend on these i found, based on what i sell my waste wood for id price it at 40£ collected then offer to deliver for a small fee, fee being dependant on distance. I find that there are a lot of "the good life" type folk who would rather buy unseasoned, unsplit wood and do it themselves, for the "fun of it", especially those who have just had a stove installed. Often sell my arb waste online for more than the log suppliers sell seasoned split loads delivered! Madness really but i guess people just like the idea of doing it themselves.
  6. Looks the part there aspen, sadly space is a premium for me.
  7. Id be very interested to see a pic of these homemade jigs. I believe my grinder takes 6 inch discs. May well have to have a play with and old knackered set.
  8. So, worked with 2 different outfits in the last 3 weeks who both do there blades in house. Now these are both well established companies, both been sharpening their own blades for 15 - 20 years using a bench grinder. And never had a single issue in doing so Now i have always sent mine off, which a lot of others Ive worked with do. Almost made me feel silly for all the expense I pay to have mine done. So who else does there own?
  9. When i did mine it was CS30,31,38,39 First aid and level 3 Arb dip. Done over 10 weeks for 1400£
  10. Thanks, got a couple of line of enquiry about a replacement deck. dexta, very kind of you to offer. Where abouts are you in Suffolk? PM if you like.
  11. Nice kit you got there.
  12. Thanks for the tips guys. Second hand deck would be the neatest and best option providing as said, it comes apart without too many hassles regarding rusted/seized fittings.
  13. This was my first thought ^^. As you say makes no difference and is the lazy option which i like Noticed the blades need a sharpen, any science to these or just give a tickle on the bench grinder?
  14. Bought this today, its a little battered and bruised but starts first pull and works 100% The fronts a mess as shown, any ideas to tidy it up a little? do second hand spares come up for sale often? Paid £50.
  15. I messaged him and said he didn't know anything about it but was very grateful i let him know.... but hasn't edited the ad!
  16. My personal favourite was your first video Jonny, still makes me laugh
  17. Thanks chaps, will look into it later
  18. Its the getting rid of it also to factor in. Our sweeper leaves it in a nice clean bin bag by the front door, no bigger than the size of a football so it goes straight in the bin.
  19. Bloke who does mine charges £40 per sweep, he got his training ( to become an approved sweeper like the AA is to arb) from a bloke in Chelmsford. This guy serves london and can charge anything upto £100 per sweep for a single stove... He was booked up a 2 months in advance... do the math based on 10+ sweeps per day! Kit required? A tarted up Henry hoover, some brushes and rods!!!
  20. I messaged asking If i could have it. Reply was please email at [email protected] and "make sure you put the gumtree ads title as the title of the email"... "so i know which ad you are replying to" He only had one ad... Then tells me his away for months and starts telling me how "safe it is to send money via one of those online payment systems" Just look at his wording - "This "NEW Chainsaw Husqvarna 395XP" is in perfect condition. The price is 330 pounds and want to sell it because I got a new Stihl gift." He has since edited the wording. NOT a fake saw, but blatantly a scam.
  21. Make sure your rope is long enough.... When i did mine one of the guys was doing a rescue in a large oak, attached himself to the casualty and then proceeded to lower himself and the casualty to the ground. Ran out of rope about 15ft above the deck! Assessor had to rescue the pair Was very assuming but they were given another shot both passed fine.
  22. Anyone recommend a good dealer for a getting a new recoil unit for my hedge trimmer?
  23. Another stump grinder - Rayco RG25HD Mini Work Force 2013 Kohler. Self Propelled Stump Grinder | eBay I messaged asking for Buy it now price on first day, he wanted 3k but it must be posted. hope no one gets stung.
  24. Just a heads up incase anyone falls for it - NEW Chainsaw Husqvarna 395XP NEW Chainsaw Husqvarna 395XP | Victoria Park | Gumtree The email reply - Good morning Matt, This "NEW Chainsaw Husqvarna 395XP" is in perfect condition. The price is 330 pounds and want to sell it because I got a new Stihl gift. I am in Dublin until July 20 to work.
