  4. Was just at my folks place and spotted this at the base of a hawthorn, any idea of species? Asking out of interest really as my knowledge is somewhat limited in this area! On a side note is the fungi app advertised here any good?
  5. I would of thought he is keeping a low profile Classic eBay ad!

  9. Wasnt planning on hitting "but it now" but was more interested in what it was as little info on the net. I did ask the owner about hours... He said the "hours clock doesn't work"
  10. indusrtrial wood chipper "jensen wessex" | eBay Owner doesn't know anymore details - model, max capacity etc Not much really on the web about it really. Anyone know the model etc?
  11. OK B+E seems to be the route to take Thanks guys. Hey Leon, that would be great if you could mate Cheers.
  12. Interesting.... So take the van i have at the moment, GTW is 5.5T.... So i could tow a trailer up to 2T and providing i haven't overloaded the truck to over 3.5t i would be legal and B+E would be all that's required?
  13. Looking for some advice on a company to use in the Ipswich/Suffolk area for trailer training + test. I have read the posts regarding which license gives what entitlements but am still a little confused I passed my test in 2002 so from what i can tell I'm able to tow a 750kg trailer with a combined truck+trailer weight of less than 3.5T. Have i got it right ( in the simplest terms please ) that if i do B+E i will be able to tow a larger trailer providing total weight is still less than 3.5t? I have also looked into doing C1+E which allows for 7.5t truck and 4.5t trailer (this is sounding better) which would cover most bases for now at least. Driver CPC was also mentioned on a few sites regarding doing C1+E, if im working for myself and using my own vehicles do i need to still do it? whats involved if i do? So main question is does anyone know of a local-to-me firm for training and is C1+E worth the extra pennies. Thanks
  14. Indeed a great loss. Many happy hours spent watching and reading his work. S@N wont be the same without him (and his cat). RIP and thank you Patrick
  15. Amazing pictures! Thanks for sharing
  16. Well Done! Also did my CS38 today, got CS39 tomorrow Same as you i guess, lots of climbing time needed to hone the skills
  17. Funny enough i was just looking at one on ebay, the seller seems to talk the talk in which case id be happy getting second hand, your point about inter changeable spares/part is a valid point His name did cross my mind! Read a fair few of his posts on here, so yet again, i dont mind buying second hand from a respectable source. Spud I will pm you
  18. I have a 261 for groundwork but its my only saw, as Im working freelance i feel i need a backup for the inevitable day when something breaks/fails. Really dont want to spend a lot so just need something that will get me through the day if needs be. Was looking at some of the non-pro Stihls and Huskys which im aware of their ranges of saws but i keep seeing reviews on here for real cheapo saws (Aldi special etc) that some seem to say are up to a days work and Im thinking something like that would make a good backup? I will only buy a new item that has good dealer backup, dont want to risk second hand eBay jobbies. So any suggestions for a cheap backup saw?
  19. I "think" due to the fact they include the level 3 Arb diploma the course is recognized as more of an educational course and gets funding towards it which brings the price down. Yes the course was a fair bit more in the past.
  20. Ah, OK so now Ive read through all of the manual and after its explained the basics of saw use and risks of kickback there is a few lines on page 29 which states not to use full throttle for the first 3 tanks! In my defense i would of thought this info would have been on the first few pages! OK so plan now is to pop over to the folks house tomorrow evening and sort some of their fire logs before it gets used properly for work on Saturday
  21. Price is £1200. ALL fees included Im currently on my last week of this course and this is the first time they have ran it as a level 3 course which for the price and time frame seems a real bargain. Cant fault any aspect of the course at all, been a very enjoyable 10 weeks.
  22. These were my thoughts also. I would assume they come "ready to run" but I guess its force of habbit for me to run new engine/rebuilds in for a few hours first. Theres a stack of smallish logs at my folks house that they keep bugging me to cut to size so may give her a first run on them.
  23. My saw arrived today from Jonsie ( MS261-c), now i must admit i did the most unmanly thing ever... I actually read the instructions! BUT.... there was a reason, I was trying to find out if i need to bed the engine in or weather its ready for work right away? No mention of anything (that i saw) in the distructions. Maybe run a tank on tick over then let it loose? It did have a very small amount of fuel in the tank which i would guess was from testing in the factory. Sorry for the basic question but its the first time Ive bought one and wanted to get off on the right foot Thanks, Matt
  24. Hmmm... Leon by any chance? Best of luck in your search mate
  25. I agree, must have taken a while to do
