  1. Thanks Dave, Do you have to pay a year subscription to the tracker company or is it a one off payment?
  2. Pedal lock, seems a good idea. Wouldnt a decent ish alarm system be able to incorporate a battery cut off? Or would that be more of an immobiliser ? If so how much do you think we are talking for a half decent system? Will fit it myself.
  3. Picking up a 110 tomorrow and seeing that these things are very easy to steal/ break into im looking for some ideas for security. Its not strictly a works vehicle so will be kept at my house overnight in a residential area. It will be used for occasional towing and for quoting, so no tools left in the back. Its a 3 door by the way. I dont believe it has any kind of alarm system fitted so that was my first plan with switches on the 3 doors and bonnet. Really looking for something more of a mechanical device to prevent it being pushed or towed away, steering lock maybe. Any thoughts would be great, thanks.
  4. Best method is to have 2 tanks, Have your standard fuel tank for UVO or SVO (rapeseed) then have another smaller tank for diesel. Start truck on the reg diesel and when engine is warm switch it over to your choice of oil. When your 5 mins from home on the last trip of the day switch it back to diesel to "flush" out the fuel lines, injector/s. this will enable an easy start the following morning. This forum is good for info on doing this - Vegetable Oil Diesel Forum - Index Kits are available to fit most vehicles.
  5. Agreed, needs a full check over.... Thats some serious gravel....
  6. BJ - Pmed you Chimp - site needed from this week onwards, need somewhere sorted asap, driving to Creeting at the moment which is killing profits and time. More than happy to leave any decent logs for the landowner.
  7. As per title, site I was using isn't available for a while. Ideally looking for somewhere close to East Ipswich. Good clean chip. PM if you like. Cheers

  14. I picked up a 2001 LDV tipper with 100k, full arb conversion including roller shutter tool compartment, taxed and moted for a year and change from £1000. Not the prettist thing nor the nicest to drive but drives spot on and a bargain for the price paid. Just keep an eye on eBay

  23. Job Center may well pay for you to get your driving license, have you looked into that? I know they will pay out for training as two of the guys I was college with had their course fees paid by the Job Center. I believe though, you made need to of been unemployed for a while first before they will offer help but ask them anyway.
  24. Hi all, My name is Matt and I'm looking for work in the Suffolk area. I am new to the industry and very keen to network with companies/individuals within driving distance of Suffolk. I have CS30,31,38,39 First aid and level 3 Arb Diploma I have only a few days experience within the industry but have a mature, hardworking attitude. I have been doing a few days work with a local climber who has really helped me with getting to grips with lots of areas of the industry which has been a great help. ========================================================= Brief background - 6 years in Merchant Navy. 5 years owner driver courier (DHL). 27 years young and father of two. Based in Ipswich ========================================================= What I can offer - Own transport and B+E is planned for end of January (got to pay Christmas off first!) Full climbing kit Ground saw Fuels and oil (turn up and work) 3.5t Tipper Having been self employed for the last 5 years that's the route I would favor at the moment. I'm honest and upfront about my abilities and as such wont charge the earth for my time just looking to fill the days that I'm currently not working. I would also like to see some examples of rigging, something i have not yet had a chance to witness due to the jobs Ive done not needing it, so if anyone has a large awkward job that I may benefit from seeing Id happily provide a days labour with just my travel expenses being paid (looking to do CS41 within the next few months). If anyone knows of anyone that I may benifit from speaking to please get in touch via PM on here ( would rather not put my contact details on a public site) References available. Regards, Matt
