  1. That is a bit of a blow then. Ive just had a look and it look likes the pump is also fitted to the 260,280,351,370 and 420 so there may be a chance you can source a second hand one.
  2. Just so you have an idea about price they are just over £10 for a new recoil spring. Part number is 503 85 99-01 (part number 5 in attached pdf) if you want to order it from your local dealer. I have attached a pdf just in case you need any other parts. You can sometimes rework the spring to make an end but you need to get it fairly correct if you want it to locate into spindle properly without slipping. Just so your aware the price of a complete starter casing with all the bits is the best part of £60 (part number 11)so its worth finding out what the issue is with your one. 3. They are expensive, £50 inc the dreaded. Are you sure its completely knackered? Oil pumps in general usually dont break, its the parts around them that fail, worm drives in particular. (experienced based on other brands as never had to replace pump parts on an echo except worm drive on cs2511) Unfortunately they only list the pump as a complete unit, they dont sell individual components within the pump.
  4. Production doesn't seem to be able to keep up with demand. They nearly always have backorders. I think we might be getting sime in next week, after that I think they said August/September.
  5. ? Ive seen it more than once. Even had a customer ask if he can buy them as he lost them while changing a chain!
  6. Strange, maybe a bad batch of clutch drums as I have never seen that issue I don't know the exact cause. The drive train is the same as the 562xp, 550xp, 545 and 555. Unless there is an issue with the bar mounting causing the bar to run at an angle pushing the chain/rim into the clutch drum. I hope no one has left the white transport washers in place!
  7. Dont know anything about it. As far as I know nothing has been changed lately in regards to drive, bar and chain. Although there is a new x force bar on the way I dont think this is the issue you lads are having. Not read or digested all the thread but what it the issue people are having? Saws cutting to one side are only caused by (99.99% of the time) by a bad chain.
  8. This should do. https://www.skylandequipment.com/husqvarna-rim-sprocket-325-7-pin-tooth-501-45-74-02.html BTW ignore Steves poor effort, that is a blag part
  9. A year since last posting and nearly 18 months since the start of the thread! Thankfully our new site should be with us within the next couple of weeks, hopefully.
  10. HI Sorry, we havent been very active on Arbtalk of late. Although I presume you have already sourced a 390 it will be a week or so before we reorder any further echo machines.
  11. Sorry missed this post. I Will try and sort it out this week.
  12. Thanks for posting the pictures but unfortunately there isnt enough info there. What I was looking for was to make sure the chain matched the bar and to see that the chain was sharp (no offence and its hard not to sound condescending but the chain is usually the issue 99% of the time) A lot of the time people look at the top of the chain but not the sides, if the chrome is damaged on the sides the saw will cut like a banana, if the bar is damaged usually the saw just jams up in the cut. I would put the husky bar back on and fit a new husky or oregon chain, I bet that would sort out the issues. It isnt worth skrimiping on the condition or quality of the chain. It is IMO the most important part of the machine. It is the contact between the machine and the timber, it doesnt matter how powerful the saw is if the chain isnt any good you will get poor results every time.
  13. Any chance you can take some pictures of both sides of the chain and the top, also the bar including any part numbers or info on the bar?
  14. Still waiting for these to come in. I was talking to the husky rep about the eta and he was surprised that some dealers already had them on the shelves as he was under the impression Husqvarna UK haven't had any in yet!
  15. Are you letting it idle/tick over a lot? The 236 has a fixed oil pump so it's constantly pumping oil if the engine is running. I will be honest and say that in the hundreds we have sold I have never had an oil feed issue. Unless it is leaking out I have never had any machine use more oil than fuel so it is indeed very strange. Do you have any links to others who have had the same problem? Does the saw cut well and have plenty of power? Does there seem to be excess oil all over the machine?
  16. Thanks for the information It looks like it well be a good seller. The 562xp is already starting to outsell the the 560xp.
  17. Im surprised if that is the case as I am fairly sure that there are non in the UK yet! Good news if they are though as have had a lot of interest and are still waiting on our order of them. Have you seen them on the shelf yet?
  18. No problem. Being good at sharpening is probably the most important thing through, I'm not being patronising so apologises if it comes across that way. The amount of badly sharpened chains I see on pro saws used by professionals is quite staggering.
  19. That will be why, always fit a full set of springs. If it is genuine stihl they will last year's as long as the other clutch parts arent worn.
  20. Did the OP get it sorted? I think the 572XP has different software although from what I have read.
  21. Stihl chain is very hard to beat IMO, Oregon coming a close second. Not sure on the Husky 50 in regards to whether it is .325 or 3/8" as not much experience with those saws but you could look for an oregon 75lpx (3/8) or 21lpx (.325). Husky have a new full chisel chain in 3/8 coming out soon that is supposed to be extremely good but if it is a .325 probably better with the Oregon for now as the decent Husky chain will require a bar swap too. I probably wont be the cheapest on any of those chains so im not putting a link up to our site. There are plenty of cheap chains out there but if you want the best stick with Stihl or Oregon for now.
  22. They dont fit unfortunately. There are only two types of flip cap available(AFAIK) and both are too big for the oil tank on the 346. I am fairly sure you can fit a 346 cap in the tank of a machine that will use the small flip cap but not the other way around, not that that is any help at all! I remember always having that problem with a Stihl 046 of ours, you would tighten the oil cap up more or less by hand but when it needed refilling it was nearly always jammed solid. Always kept some spare ones of those old caps to hand as they did fall to bits eventually.
  23. Make sure you buy the correct bar to go with the 95TXL as it wont work with the standard husky bar, is a 1.3mm gauge as opposed to the 1.5mm on the husky bar. Or (shameless plug) buy this package below. The new husky x-cut chain is very similar and has all the same great features to the oregon 95TXL and we have had nothing but great feedback on it. Husqvarna X-force bar and X-cut chain package deal.
  24. I suppose it goes to show that we shouldnt believe everything we read on the internet as our views are certainly very different. I used to buy the vxl in in 100 feet reels and I reckon we did a good number of those in over the years, never, ever bothered to sharpen them from new., I just hope the quality hasnt lapsed over the years. On the cheap chinese chains though they were utter shite, have had quite a lot of customers try them and come to the same conclusion, ok if your on a dirty job thats going to batter chains but other than that not worth it. Half of the teeth were twisted and bent after only an hour or so's worth of running time when we tried them out. Maybe the quality of those chains has improved within the last twelve months.
  25. Surely no chance! We tried a few of those out for comparison and they were clearly the worst chains I have ever used. Terrible out of the box, not sharp and extremely bad vibrations, then awful to sharpen and two out of four snapped way before they were half through their lifespan. Binned them all. The VXL is a great chain, we have been using it for the best part of 20 years while doing tree work. Well, the VX from the start and then the VXL. As long as the saw is running well and being operated correctly the chain cuts brilliantly. The Stihl full chisel cuts faster but you need to take the depth gauges down too frequently for my liking unless you buy the 3617 variant. I used to use the 020 and 540 way beyond the size of timber they were designed for, never had an issue with the chain jamming unless it was sharpened incorrectly.
