  1. Nothing wrong with the attachment on the tree motion plenty strong enough. Hung many large saws from mine with no damage
  2. Check that everything is sat centre first then try it again. If you want to get a new one try the fs 240, 37cc engine. It can take metal cutting heads, the duro cut and the standard tap feed head. It's about £500 + the dreaded
  3. How's he liking the rear handle?
  4. It's not to bad. Got a 1 year old so any time off I'm spending with her, she's usually ready for bed by time I get home
  5. Have chat with these guys. They make tanks for all applications so might be able to help UK Bunded Fuel Tanks - Diesel Fuel Storage Tanks and Equipment WWW.UKBUNDEDFUELTANKS.CO.UK text
  6. I found 10mm or even 9mm just a bit thick on sub 12.5mm rope. Might just be me. I used the vt as Steve described, if I used pre-made eye to eye I got a longer one as I found the slaice/splice interfered slightly so more often than not made my own with a double fisherman. This is coming from another retired climber
  7. Gone are the days of working bank holidays for me. My rota has worked well which means I don't have to work Saturday this week. Although I do miss being outside in the trees now I'm shop bound
  8. Will do. Not there till Tuesday though 👍
  9. I think we've got one in our bargain bin. Definitely not £218 though
  10. It's not just 550's. It's pretty much all saws from different manufacturers. We get given a delivery date then that seems to change every couple of weeks! As for 261 vs 550 we see a lot more 550's coming in for repairs than 261's (unless it's the early ones with the bearing problem) and got some carriers machined to accept a better bearing

    Chainsaw chains

I don't know about not catching on. Husqvarna have been making them since 1995! We get numerous enquiries about them each week, which often results in a sale.
  12. I think we've got one at the shop at moment. I will have a look to see if the s/n is something similar. Looking at the parts diagram a lot of parts are 1118. What parts do you need?
  13. Just ran that and according to stihl it doesn't exist
  14. Pm me the number. I can check it right now
  15. Thanks for the review. Will tell John tomorrow. See you when your next in. Andrew
  16. Annoyed the hell out of me at first, but got use to it now. I find if I press down using the bit of muscle under the thumb it automatically slides forward. Shown this to a few different customers now that have had the same problem
  17. There just flimsy now. Much prefer the old style stihl one's. With the new one's just need to make sure the chain brakes off. Otherwise even a blunt chain will slice through them like butter
  18. Could just get the rear handle 2511
  19. You have to remember that battery blowers use more power than other tools, so might be worth getting a bigger battery
  20. All I found with the wellies is to buy a smaller size than your normal, whether it be a half size or full. It makes all the difference
  21. You could both be right! I book loads of parts each and every day. And also check the eta of orders. They either arrive early or a longer than expected when on back order. I don't think the manufacturer's know them selves when stuff will arrive in the country, we waited 6 months just for a pressure washer hose to arrive last year. Needless to say the customer wasn't to chuffed
  22. It's pretty much the case across the board if it's not in stock in the UK then there's a good wait for it to arrive it's not just Echo
  23. Just had a look on my ordering system and the part number is highlighted. Sorry for the crap pic
  24. I'm not defending them here but, you've got to remember it's been Christmas probably didn't start back till the 4th. And then with covid probably not got the staff they usually do

    Mot testing

Had a mk3 Hilux a few years back. When I had to get the mot (a mate did it before hand, but retired) I took it to another local garage and told them if anything needs sorting I'll do it. Anyway as I expected it failed. When I went back he said come with me. It was up on the ramp with everything marked out and he talked me through how to fix everything(far better than a Haynes manual) That's the service you want from your mechanic knowing their not getting anything else from you. Just a bit of advice can mean a lot and they still get work to this day
