    Echo Pole saws..

The machines we have in the shop have the curved handle. I can't remember the model number. I've not been told about a new version, but I will have a look on Monday. We only got them recently, so not sure.

    What gear???

Their only £45 more than a set of airstreams. Far better boot in IMO. Protect your feet in the best way possible, comfort wise as well as protection
  3. Don't forget distel, klemheist and numerous others that might work better for them. More knots you know the better IMO. As for the op find which knot works for you. I got taught on a 3 knot system, it's good to know and can help you out in some tricky situations
  4. Used that trick a couple of times. Was a lifesaver.
  5. Not a problem. Don't know their setup, they just come to the shop now and then
  6. I think you said unqualified here, guessing you meant not to climb?
  7. Have you tried Bowland Bioengery in Downham, or R H Biomass in Longridge?
  8. Have you tried a size smaller than your usual? Painful things to wear, but going down helps a bit

    Super is fine to use

    Stihl ms400

Only had the 400 in the shop for being run over dropped etc(2 or 3). One lad had his 4 weeks before it came in. If we replaced fuel tank, av's body etc, plus the service charge. It was only £30 more for a new one. Pretty much everything got crushed.
  11. If you was wanting something nearer 40cc it would be the Fs240. Also the blade is a grass cut one. Not for cutting tree's or even brambles! If you were to want to cut tree's as it were you'd be wanting something like the the fs460 at least
  12. Did some strimming a good few years back didn't notice the hogweed until cleaning up, got blisters all over my arms and neck still got the scars. One was a good 15 mil across and stuck out something similar. Since that day always worn long sleeves and Buff for the neck
  13. Good to know hope it serves you well
  14. Hope the new one's still good 👍
  15. That was very good viewing. Great to see some good old engineering
  16. Honey Brothers say they are climbing boots, not chainsaw. When you read the description on their site of climbing boots it 'when you aren't operating machinery' . Also the other Arbpro boots say in the description what class the boots are rated to. I reckon do some more research next time and not blame the supplier then expect discount on your mistake
  17. Nothing wrong with the attachment on the tree motion plenty strong enough. Hung many large saws from mine with no damage
  18. Check that everything is sat centre first then try it again. If you want to get a new one try the fs 240, 37cc engine. It can take metal cutting heads, the duro cut and the standard tap feed head. It's about £500 + the dreaded
  19. How's he liking the rear handle?
  20. It's not to bad. Got a 1 year old so any time off I'm spending with her, she's usually ready for bed by time I get home
  21. Have chat with these guys. They make tanks for all applications so might be able to help UK Bunded Fuel Tanks - Diesel Fuel Storage Tanks and Equipment WWW.UKBUNDEDFUELTANKS.CO.UK text
  22. I found 10mm or even 9mm just a bit thick on sub 12.5mm rope. Might just be me. I used the vt as Steve described, if I used pre-made eye to eye I got a longer one as I found the slaice/splice interfered slightly so more often than not made my own with a double fisherman. This is coming from another retired climber
  23. Gone are the days of working bank holidays for me. My rota has worked well which means I don't have to work Saturday this week. Although I do miss being outside in the trees now I'm shop bound
  24. Will do. Not there till Tuesday though 👍
