  1. Thats a much better design, will make operation so much quicker, especially getting to the deck.
  2. This quote is a bit misleading. if you are trained to and have permision from the relevent dno then this is true. If you are not then you should not work within 9 metres or 2 tree lengths, (whichever is greater) of the conductors.
  3. Alot of people talk about how dangerous this job is, but is it really? I think not. Whilst of course there are dangerous aspects to the job, ie dead or damaged trees to name a couple, 90% of the work i undertake is not at all dangerous if you follow correct technique, procedures etc. It then only becomes dangerous when you cut corners or rush or poor work positioning etc. So no, i do not have a problem on lone working for the smaller more straight forward jobs and that is mostly because i hate to come down and then clear up a bitds nest of mess i have just made.
  4. Wheres the like button:thumbup:
  5. For some reason i could not get cover off (cant remember why now). However it was mid winter and getting dark so no one could see it until the morn, when i would return.
  6. If climbing on a friction knot, i find a blakes so much nicer. Horses for courses.
  7. I got my saw pinched in the bore once, only saw i had with me and was on my tod. Not alot i could do after that other than go home and return the following day with another saw.
  8. I see the scam but how do you get a confirmation email from paypal?
  9. If you can get away with those figures when buying timber, your laughing.
  10. Overland build/modify arb trucks, one of which they do has heated tool lockers on the back so your kit is dry by the time you get back to the yard. Not cheap i imagine.
  11. Looks like a nice chipper vermeer, but on a demo, i do not want to see how well the machine chips logs, rather see how it handles twisty, forky thorn tree tops or the like. I bet that is where the hydraulic crush comes in good.
  12. I wonder how that sways (or not)in the wind now...
  13. I imagine they would be handy for ringing up large timber, to stop saw getting pinched.
  14. Beauty is in the eye of the ..........
  15. Yes i saw it wasn't scuffed, nicely done.
  16. I would have been worried about scuffing up the side of that tree too, or was it also coming down? Nice fell.
  17. I like that alex, rear wheel arch looks a bit odd!
  18. That stein bollard has seen some work bigtree.
  19. I think it is an ideal oportunity for you. If you can get £350 great, but i would say that is the top end without chipper. Have you the tipper or 4x4 (or both), whatever is most related to works you do?
  20. Totally agree. Tax payers money we are talking about.
  21. I really like those MB speedline kits, but at the best part of $500 i think i will stick with what i've got. If money was no object, i would certainly get one.
