  1. Is that home metsa? What a beautiful spot. Nice loader too.
  2. The power line looks to be low voltage, in which case this is commonplace where the conductors can be as little as a metre from the main stem. Yes the clearance should be greater, but in reality there is not enough funds for the contractor to to remove every tree this close aswell as myself thinking that that would be morally wrong on an environmental level. However, if it is in your favour to have this tree removed, your local dno will either have to carry out the work themself or switch (isolate) the power out so that you or your tree surgeon can carry out the work safely. Strictly speaking untrained operatives without the dno's consent should not work within 2 tree lengths or 9 metres (whichever is greater) of live conductors. Approach your dno and try and get them to carry out this work foc for you if this is what you want.
  3. Absolutely Kevin, that one and the black walnut log deal. Superb
  4. There must be loads of 335 scraps if mine was anything to go by! Good luck in your search.
  5. I'd say plum and plane.
  6. Your mum could get a price from another tree firm in the area, i am sure they would hit the right price and get them to do it. Your mate should feel a bit awkward when he finds out.
  7. Sounds like you have your hands tied a bit if you need shot asap. Presuming that you charged the customer to haul timber away, if you can find a local timber merchant to collect from site for free, then you're laughing. Little word of advice, dont let the customer get you to reduce price for you to have timber, always charge them to take it away unless you can defo make in it.
  8. Move the decimal point 2 places and i would say you are about bang on.
  9. Respect for posting that reduction Steve, not alot you can do there.
  10. Also, i have prefered using the 441 more than the 575.
  11. Never had one but several mates have had the 441 and been very happy with it. I have a 575 (dont even know if they still make them) that i have been happy with. Not rocked my world but has been reliable (touch wood) though i do find it a bit sluggish in the cut which isnt like husqvarna. Maybe could do with being ported.
  12. You will have to pop by your siblings and take your niece or nephew out for the morning
  13. I hate reading about these things, sorry to hear jonny. A mate got done night before last, went in trhough asbestos roof, hopefully they got ine of those asbestos hooks in their throat.
  14. Rats are very intelligent
  15. As tree79 said, the nptc schedule has everything you need to know.
  16. Is there much of a market for poplar in france mick?
