  1. The problem is I now have that many tools I can't find them all. What with the farms workshop and the tractor shed. Some are mine some are not. Mine take up a lot of space. Sockets sets, spanner, torque this and that, testers galore. Reckon I now have more tools that the local car garage. And it was until I started moving and sorting them that I realised how many I actually have. But they all have a use and will get used at some point. And more to the point they are all clean. Nothing I hate more than picking up a tool and it's covered in grease and oil.
  2. A paint brush wouldn't go Amis for cleaning air filters. A decent sharpening kit is good. One with a bar cleaner. And a can of wd40 for an extra clean. For the workshop you really don't want to know how many tools I have...
  3. If it's closing properly. Sounds like fuel is not your problem. Unless it getting way too much. Remove the spark plug and out it up against the cylinder cooling fins. Then pull over and look for a spark. If there is no spark the that's the start point. This could be an off switch issue or a coil issue. Could be a loose connection on it.
  4. Ok let's try. The design of a chainsaw is very much the same across the board, they all have the same components, although they look different, there is a pot and piston, oil pump, brake band, handles etc. so really there is nothing that could be made new to a saw, so the chance of making a copy is high, but what that is made out of is the important thing. The major companies want top grade materials, so they get them. To make a cheap copy would mean bringing the quality of material down. This is where the cheap stuff comes from, all made in the same factory by the same machines, but with a cheap material. So it doesn't last as long. And this material does sometimes get mixed with the quality stuff and that's when parts fail on major saw names. A cheap saw will be made from cheap materials, and some parts that are metal on a pro saw will be plastic on the cheap saw. There are some very very good copy husky saws out there, and as we have all seen they are hard to see that they are a copy, even the experts have to think hard. And although in design it's the same saw, the materials are cheap low grade stuff that no one else wants. I had a Chinese cheap thing, used it for roots and horrible timber that I wouldn't want to use a good saw on. As if it broke it would just go in the bin, and it did. But it was a £50 disposable saw. And that brings up the disposable saw part, buy a saw for £50, it breaks you don't bother repairing it, just bin it and buy another. The companies don't make spares for them so what's the point.
  5. If it's just the band that need replacing then replace it. Should of had a look at the other components before ordering the band just to be sure. Lesson learnt.
  6. Did you check the spark before putting in a new plug? Petrol engines need three things to work, fuel air mix, spark and compression, one of these is missing then it won't go. So check spark, then check spark plug is wet. try putting some fuel straight down the carb, I would rule out compression as it's still new. Is the choke doing it's job?
  7. Application for a bench has been approved, just need some nice timber now. What would people reccomend for some nice planks for the bench.
  8. Oh god. Look out, the "I hate those flippy caps" brigade will be along soon. Yes people is seems husky has seen the light and gone with sthils ideas... Nice looking saw.
  9. It's appears at the top. In the banner. I've seen it twice now. Maybe a mod can get a snap of it and put it up.
  10. Where is the bra thing coming from??? She hasn't got any clothes on at all....
  11. Sorry dan. It appears at the top in the banner sometimes.
  12. Has anyone else seen the advert for the bars? Thought there was something funny going on with the iPad. It's very nice, but I do struggle to see the bar....:001_tongue:

We have had long serving RN volunteer before and they didn't last as they where sick as parrots. The lifeboat really is something else. You get a probation period of 6 months, to see if you can do it and %60 don't. But by all means give it a go. If you can do it it's awesome.
  16. Saturn knives. Also best done with a wet grind stone. Keeping the blade cool as possible is the key, if you heat it up it looses it's hard edge. And will blunt very quickly. Taking the same off each side is good.
  17. Yes I also agree that Barrie is awesome. Second to none over parts IMO. And somehow he knows mowers like he has every manual downloaded into his brain, with part numbers. A top bloke and always a pleasure to deal with.
  18. Try a motor factors. Take the old filter with you and they will match it up with a non genuine one. Down my way we have part co, or east kent components.
  19. Why? Why bring me into this dirty thread. Yes I did port out a 026 a while ago. And no it didn't work out too well, mainly due to me taking a little bit too much out the sides and catching the rings. I did port an old Dolmar, and it did work and still is, only I didn't notice much in the way of any gain. That's me on this thread and all I'm putting in, I don't see much point in porting and after hearing Dave's saws they are way too loud for me, I couldn't work with one all day even with defenders on. As people know I don't like porting so that's me out.
  20. Bit of a hit of stuff today. Honda needing a new cable (yes Barrie, that cable you sent months ago has finally been fitted) Three stihl hedg cutters hs45, one blocked fuel filter, one the handle assembly was falling apart, and the other I'm not sure on as it runs fine. Did adjust the needle valve. Ts400, hard to start, but after figuring out the owner wasn't using the decomp button I worked out why.
  21. You can get medication for that....
  22. Stihl would still win as the huskys would run out of fuel before they got there. Or the modern ones would stop as they wouldn't read any oil or the right colour of oil in the fuel... Or the auto tune would kick in and they would all have to stop and retune them in the nearest tree. :001_tt2::lol::lol::lol:
  23. Pah, easy to say. I just freeze up and can't move. Even if I want to.
  24. Oh man......... Lol. I love Shelby, just the comedy factor alone is worth a series. What's it called as I will be looking out for it. The undatables is hilarious, love the women with torrets. I couldn't date her as I would be laughing too much. Brilliant.
