Counting down the days. From the 26th I will be on a week course in Poole on sea survival course. A nice week away, all inclusive, nice rooms and rest. Oh but there will be some work in a pool with waves, hurricane winds, lightning, down pours. And capsizing ribs, lift rafts, and plenty of being out on a lifeboat for the days. Oh and I'm sure there will be plenty of puke aswell....... So a nice busmans holiday. Video below.. [ame] [/ame]
  2. Oh joy......... Anything you can say about week commencing 26th around the Portsmouth area? I'm away on sea survival training that week and will spend most of it in the water in the harbour and in a pool. So I would like to be able to try and pack the right gear. Don't want to pack my shorts and t shirts if it's going to the in the minus.
  3. just out of interest could you flip it up and just turn the blade by hand. check its not the deck tht is bent and catching the edge of the blade.
  4. I'm sure I've got one of these in the lockup as a project mower. As Barrie said take the plug out and see if it changes.
  5. It could be then. A rule of thumb, hold the pull cord in one hand and let the saw drop, while holding the cord handle. See how long it takes to reach the bottom of the cord. If it drops instantly then it's gone. But a tester should be used for accurate results. Also not sure on the model but has it got a decomp button? This could have started leaking.
  6. A bit hard. What's the comp like. Fuel level. Normally if a saw runs fine then you stop it after it's hot and it won't restart it normally means the comp has gone. Give it a try in the morn and see if it starts again. Could also be a park issue, check and change the spark plug. Also if it doesn't start see if the spark plug is getting wet.
  7. Well due to being in somewhat discomfort today I decided it was best to work from home. So one 026 tuned and sharpend. One ms200t exhaust and clutch springs fitted. And what was a spares 200t tested, comp at 160 and a really good spark. Just missing an exhaust and a carb. If anyone has a spare exhaust or knows a local alloy welder near me let me know please. Looking to have this spare saw running again. Oh and even with the pain of a neck I still managed to sort the exhaust on a motorbike and the gear lever out. Thank god for lifting tables. Nice to work and waist hieght.
  8. Doesn't matter how much it rattles you about. It's damn better than shoveling by hand.
  9. It's amazing how quickly the price of any machine goes out your head when your moving twice the amount in a fraction of the time with absolutely no effort what so ever.
  10. i am using a ibuprofen gel. plus i get a massage from the missis. it is better. but no gone docs as they cant get me an appointment, the walk in centre at dover is only manned by nurses, so will not get a pain relief from them. the diazapam was given to me when my back went last year, i didint take many so took some last night. helped me sleep but thats about it. its dying off slowly today. will find out tomoz.
  11. Thanks all. I can't take brufen. Calling docs, as I tend to agree that hospital won't be able to do much. Also going to call osteopath aswell. They did a great job when my back gave out last year, so will see what they can do. But i still need to go up workshop and so some work. Will grit my teeth while I'm awaiting docs. Yeah wasn't what I would call trauma, but my god does it hurt, actually managed to get out of bed this morn, and got some deep heat on it. Docs are useless, tried calling as I'm typing and there next app isn't for two days. Think I will preserver with what I've got and see what happens. Got some naproxen so will take some of those today. That should take any inflammation down. Just the pain to work through. Many thanks all again.
  12. Cold or hot. Can switch between the two. Both are suppose to help.
  13. Good idea. If I need it in the morn I will.
  14. Sadly another body was pulled today....... It really makes me angry at the stupidity of some people.
  15. This morn I done something to my neck. It hurts unlike anything I have EVER felt, been in bed all afternoon unable to move due to extreme pain, diazepam hasn't touched it. Can just lay on my back, and even then I just get very sharp very intense pain. Just felt like I caught it. Then stupidly I went out on lifeboat exercise.... Got a hot water bottle on it now and I'm about to drown myself in some more pills. I'm not one that goes to the docs much as I just tend to get on with it. Think I need to go hospital....
  16. On a downhill fell the butt will also bounce away from the feller. Well that's the theory anyway. It does normally happen.
  17. To be fair we used to carry about 30 stakes, and around 6 50 mtr rolls of rabbit fencing on it. Couldn't fit any more than that, it did lift but you knew it was there. Plus if you turned the slew ring you would knock a load of stuff off, the height for a bin isn't there.
  18. Awesome. Nice job. Handy to get the tipper there to just drop the stem into it, if only they where all like that.
  19. Yeah easy to do, but what weight will the blade be able to lift..... Made one up years ago for a digger to go fencing with, carried steaks and wire. But couldn't load it up much as the blade wouldn't lift it.
  20. This. I had a disagreement with someone as they argued over the retune of some saws. The saw came on for work about 3 weeks ago before Xmas. They returned need a tune. I said £10, two saws, 30 mins of tuning a fully testing. Argument, he hadn't used them since they come back from me, guess he didn't know they needed a tune then? Simple. Next work I will do for him will be charged at a much higher rate. It's business, don't do work for the love of the job...
  21. The last one. Flat protursion.... All this talk of nipple and protrusions is getting me hot under the coller... That's nothing, there are currently 8 of the wall trays filled with them.
  22. Havnt used a saw in anger in months. I repair saws and garden machinery. Been known to do the odd transit, 4x4, 360 excavator etc. Spent a long time dragging brash, until I realised machines are more my thing.
  23. Welcome. So your good with an engine? Are you arb work or machine work?
  24. What he said, they will only go to ford to get the genuine part from then. Garages will not use aftermarket or replica unless there is no other choice. This is more down to trace of accountably than anything else. Fords are a pita. So without seeing or doing the job I really couldn't comment on the labour charge.
