  1. Barrie's place is perfectly organised. And it's something I should personally strive to achieve with my place.
  2. Oh go.... Now you've gone and done it....:lol:
  3. Just coz I missed saying it in a pm..... Anyway not sending any Xmas cards out this year as you miserable lot didn't send any back. And they where funny ones.......:001_tt2::001_tt2:
  4. Well that's it. Workshop is now closed for any new non booked tools to come in. Time to clear the ones I do have in a over the Xmas week, then reopen the doors on the 3rd. Do have a 200t that will be coming in, but that's it. So I can work as and when I like rather then trying to get things done. Everyone knows I've closed the doors today and those that have machines in also know that the chances of getting them back before new year are slim. So a nice long relaxing Xmas. And after this year I need it. Happy Xmas arb talk.
  5. Rebuilt the 260 today. Cleaned the bore and it came up nice. Now pulling 170psi. Just need to figure out why the clutch is engaging the drum on tick over. New springs didn't change it. Cleaned up the drum and it is better, but will find out when I fire it up and see if it engages.
  6. I've always said that those that have never used a machine like a digger and rotator grab for arb will never understand when they are told how much better and quicker it is. Those that have will always use them when they can.
  7. So that the process of elimination then....
  8.:lol: I always harass her by saying that I would leave her daughter in a second if she would only just say yes to me....... It works well as she hasn't visited for months now.
  9. A promise that I will leave her alone for at least one day next year........
  10. It could be. Did you check the carb manifold for cracks or tears. Also check the seal around the cylinder port and rubber boot. These can leak.
  11. Try motor factors for the filters, they will not be genuine. But will find the right ones.
  12. Is it a new tank breather? Or did you use the old one? As the fuel tank took a hit so could the breather or even the fuel pipe?
  13. Sorry all but a bit of a de rail for div. She made this a while ago, and has made two more for crew since. She is into making toys and kids stuff, like hats etc.
  14. That's the other half. I can knit but just don't anymore. She does it and makes some really good stuff. Will get a pic up in a bit of some stuff she has made. Is the idle speed higher than before? A tach is a better way of doing it. And did you adjust the screws? Reset to factory and see what it does. Failing that check the clutch is all good.
  15. it's official, Santa does exist I asked for a jigsaw puzzle for Xmas as I have been very very very good this year, and I got one.:lol: Ms260, seized shortly after being transferred to aspen. On looking at the piston and pot there is no sign of any transfer on either. But due to a small indent it will need a new pot and piston. So meteor piston going in and new pot. But I do reckon it seized as if you look at he bottle behind it it does look like wee had been used instead....:lol:
  16. This was on my to do list for my thread. Thank you. A true act of selfless heroism. Although if you ask any member of the rnli if they consider themselves heroes they will always say no. Just doing what we are there for, will be the answer. It was a huge loss. And so close to Xmas. The port village of mouse hole was just starting the Xmas celebrations. There are transcripts online of the radio conversations betweent he coast guard and lifeboat. Winston Churchill quote. “The lifeboat drives on with a mercy, which does not quail in the presence of death; It drives on as a proof, a symbol, an affirmation, that man is created in the image of God, and that valour, and virtue, have not perished in the British race.”
  17. Firstly. I love green mech, I think there machines are really good. They are not that hard to work on and I found figuring them out very easy, so I have no problems working on them. But as you know Pete a few issues with dealers aswell and a part that was ordered and was well over the odds for that part, even when I found the exact same part elsewhere that was in the same "state" as the ordered one. Still had to drill the hole for the nipple. This put me right off the dealer. And the fuss over getting the part aswell. It came quicker from green mech in the end.
  18. Chucking it down now. And wind is blowing a goodan....
  19. Oh FFS. Great. Just what I need when I'm trying to get some space cleared before Xmas. Closing on the 20th. I might just chuck it on the shelf as a spare part. Order a new one up tomoz. Can't believe it. Just my sodding luck that is. Oh well.
  20. Yep genuine stihl. Has the mark. And yes I thought it was the wrong way on the pin end..... Paperwork says 026, numbers on it. 1145/00a, anyone match these numbers so they can tell me what saw its for please. If it's a common saw then I don't mind keeping it and ordering another. If not it's going back. Just a pain as it's close to Xmas and delivery on another part will take me past Xmas.
  21. Just had a message to not go too far away from the station tonight..........
  22. Ok. It's a first for me, ordered a 026 brake band, this one looks a bit "off" to me. Or am I missing something:001_huh:
  23. Suppose to pick up big time with the wind tonight. So waiting for the pager to go off. (Hopefully)....
  24. Clean them, check the meter arm height, and check the low screw is all good and clean. Pop test the carb. Also check the diaphrams are ok. (Yes I know I can never spell it properly) After that, impulse lines, crank seals, etc.
