  1. Oh what a day. Two ms200t in, both not running right. First one was a simple tune on the high low. Second one was dying when throttle pulled, would run ok if fettle. A quick retune and it is running spot on. Ms260, dying on throttle, and just running very rough in cut. All tested out ok, so cleaned and tuned the carb, now running like stink. Ms260, aspen run, will rev out for a few seconds, then just die, but will fire right back up again. Everything is ok except I haven't vac or pressure tested the seals. So top job next. And a regular stopped in with a 080av, no power in cut but running ok, checked high low and they where well out, screwed back in to factory, 1 turn each, and is going like a goodn. He also inquired into a tipper back for his hillux. So looking into it and looks like a go ahead for that. Only problem is the fuel filler will need to be modified as it runs through the old back body. So will need diverting for new tipper.
  2. still don't see the beach and I spent a good part of today staring....

    Awesome

He has done a few. Just search on youtube for "best of the web" and look for his name. There are 4 in total. Some are just brilliant. Most of the vids he has used from other people and just put them all together. The music is nice aswell. Very calming.

    Awesome

Some awesome vids this bloke has made. Just had to share. [ame] [/ame]
  5. Does it still do it if you stop it when it races and then restart it? Other than looking down to ensure the throttle is fully closing.
  6. What he said. Or the throttle linkage is getting stuck. First try and see if any adjustment not he screws make a difference. If no difference is heard then it's an air leak.

I do like an early morning call.... 06.50am, page call to a fishing vessel taking on water, between Folkestone and Dover. When on scene the skipper had managed to sort of plug the hole with wood, but water was still getting in. No tow asked for but crew put on board with the salvage pump while the lifeboat escorted them back to Dover. Once at Dover the vessel was lifted out the water and put on dry dock. Lifeboat alongside and ready for service at 08.30am.
  8. Had a quick look on ebay, saw kits for £300 ish or less depending on what height you would want. Then it would be a case of the body to build, that would be the big cost in metal. Suppose the sides could be wood. I would have to build a custom box as it would need to have wheel arches to get over the big tyres. But it's defiantly doable.
  9. No more than 6 turns. If you use the right size cord.
  10. Now that is what I call countryside....... Could only dream of views like that round my way. Still. Got a nice new Pocketboy coming to look forward to.
  11. I'm actually thinking of buying a small quantity in at first and seeing how it goes. Maybe a few different size bottles and see how they sell. One never knows until one has tried.
  12. Better get those logs in then Jon. But make sure you get enough in this time :lol: It is cold in the morn but soon buggers off when the sun rises.
  13. Haha very funny..... Says the one that send me a saw that smells of lenor.:001_tt2: And I always find this part hard as you said you contacted Barrie and now I'm worried I have been treading on toes.
  14. Cool. You got nade up that tree yet? Dan said you got a harness? Who you got working for ya now?
  15. Been looking at tipper kits. Prompted by another thread. Is 700mm lift enough??? Or would it need more. 700mm on the front of a chip box would be enough lift to tip chip easily would it? What grade of a slope would that make? Could move the ram towards the rear of the truck to get more angle I guess but that would mean the ton of preassure would go down aswell!
  16. That's look really tidy. A friend is looking at converting his hillux to a tipper. Would the company you got yours from export the kits? Or do you have a link for them please. I was thinking of asking him if he wanted to do this to his. After looking at yours I reckon it can be done. Edit. Welcome to the forum.
  17. Door seals. Or is the rain collecting and coming in through the brake servo seal on bulkhead. Had same thing with a corsa a short while ago, seal around the servo in bulkhead had gone and water was seeping in. Had to re seal it. Best bet is to remove the carpet back and have someone with a hose on the fine spray on windscreen. Then just watch and wait. Edit. I did Have to hold the bulkhead bung closed to it filled with water to get a good look.
  18. I didn't think you done call outs Dave. You always said they where just too much a pita...?
  19. Went in today. The house was going to be full so got out the way for a few hours. But back properly monday. Might not do anything New Year's Day.
  20. A really nice day today. A bit of a chill in the air this morn but that's gone now. A few clouds about but nothing I'm worried about.
  21. Ok. I'm going to swallow this one whole. Aspen. I was sent a saw from Dan Earp jones, ms260, did have a problem with the drum heating up and the clutch. But between this and it coming to me a screwdriver had somehow ended up in the pot and damaged the piston beyond repair and the pot was damaged, but after chatting with spud I decided I would give it a go at repairing it. It worked well, managed to get the damage out and a new meteor piston in. Now pulling 170psi. Now the swallow bit. This saw is run on aspen. So a bit dubious over it, so after some checking the carb settings and a few stop start moments. Meter arm height was out. If anyone has a pic of the arm and a gauge etc could they add them please. Have looked back but can't find them. And eventually got the saw tuned and running very nice indeed. Now aspen, it was actually really pleasant to be able to start the saw and not get chocked out by smoke and fumes, especially from a flooded saw. It smelt nice. So I will actually recommend aspen to the casual user or the gardener. The price will be the decider for them. But for me it's the nice working environment in the workshop. So there I actually like aspen, I've said it. Careful Barrie.

    Aspen fuel

Oh god. It's nearly as old as I am. Ok I guess that answers that one then. Wasn't sure if it was old enough to positively say it doesn't harm engines... But I guess it is.

    Aspen fuel

There is one thing that has been bugging me. Sorry to derail this. But how long has aspen been in use. When was it first made?

    Basically what he said.
