Vessel that crossed the tow. As the tug had all lights and warnings up. They have a series of light indicating limited manoverabilty and that they are towing. It is then this that tells another vessel. The vessel didn't take any notice.
  2. i know. but i really dont want to miss this. and dont want to let the crew down for it either.

dover lifeboats first call of the year. at 3am this morning a collision happened in the channel near dungeness power station. our sister station was called first to attend. the collision was a tug towing a barge, when a commercial vessel crossed over the tow, the tow was some 400m long, the commercial vessel then got snagged on the tow wire, this then started to pull the barge and the tug behind it. the tug crew cut the tow as the commercial vessel didnt respond to radio calls and signals from the tug. the commercial vessel is at anchor and awaiting divers to asses the damage. the tug has had some considerable damage, it has lost its rudder and lost a prop, it is now getting ready to be pulled back to dover by another tug, the barge is being pulled in by a seperate tug. lifeboat is standing by all vessels as there is a serious risk at this time. dover lifeboat was launched at 09.45am, after dungeness lifeboat was stood down.
  4. Same as garden kit for me. Right 435 husky. Need a new oil pump. Anyone got one? Yes I have a husky on the bench....
  5. Thanks everyone. Been at the workshop today, well exept for the pager going off. The boat is out now and I'm off back down there in a bit. So been distracting myself a bit.
  6. Just so people know the tax is changing. Instead of yearly there will be a monthly option coming out. Direct debit. For me it will make it easier.
  7. Think the ones you are thinking of are for pulling the seals out rather than the bearings, the bearings are push fit and need heating and freezing, then a tap. Could be wrong tho.
  8. Think I was still in a shock stage at that point bud. Thanks all. I've gone through some crap in my life and I'm not going to let this "thing" (as there is no swearing on this forum) beat me. Been talking to a few friends tonight and one who has gone through it. Good to talk to people who know. It's the waiting for a decision on treatment that's a killer. Just waiting, and now it's Friday I won't hear anything until next week..... Got a weekend of mind playing. Good job I'm working tomoz in the workshop. Some peace and something to do.
  9. Thanks, I havnt even told them yet. Im suppose to be on a course in two weeks and I really want to go. I've got a meeting with the operations manager tomoz.
  10. Well mine was going to be spending more time with my family....... But after today it's now. To kick stomach cancer up the butt. Went docs earlier today. Not good news. But it can be operated on, but depends on how far it is. But it did start a while ago. There was a thread about health before Xmas and I posted about feeling sick then. So since then. Hardest moment of my life coming home. I didn't even get chance to tell my other half. She just asked about docs and I broke down. Sorry about trying to make a joke about it by the way, before the flamers start on me.
  11. But we do have a couple of these. :thumbup1:
  12. You lot are thinking of the m3, and this does not float.
  13. Also reminds you that a pull cord can really effing hurt...... After five minutes of doing the "I just stubbed my toe dance"
  14. Got a timberwolf 125 in today. Surprise surprise the wheel bearing has gone. Anyone know the size of the bearings, going to strip it down tomoz but asking so I can look at ordering before I start on it. Also got a 048 leaking fuel. Got a husky coming in with oiling problems.
  15. That's why it went out. It is a very nice, very big block. It's not something the owner gets into, he like his very old trials bikes, this one came with a few others and he put it in the back of the shed and I uncovered it. Just need to wangle my way into getting it off his hands.
  16. Yeah, just threw me off a bit as it's stamped on the fins. So first thought was if someone had changed the engine in the past. But then quickly threw it out. I would even want to touch the throttle at 1500cc. Would end my bike riding carer very quickly.
  17. As soon as I get hold of it from under a load of crap I got a Yamaha gt380 bike to sort out. It's got a good layer of dust on it. The casing says it's 1500cc. But I'm sure this is the oil capacity. As after talking to a few mates it should be a 380cc, a nice 3 pot engine.
  18. I've got to agree over the fitter part. So far I've fitted new batteries to a 360, just because the old ones didn't start the machine. So new ones in and old ones in the bin. Didn't even get a chance to test them. Got a small kabota 3t that is in need of a new oil pump. It's getting slow. So instead of re conning the old one buying a new pump. Suppose the pump is easier as I will be driving it next week.
  19. Depends on the saw. Some have the chain brake in the cover while others, stihl inperticular have it on the side of the saw. If this is th case then apply chain brake once started and you should be able to have it ticking over nicely, it will bog when revved tho. So would have to release chain brake, but as said don't over rev it for too long as you could do some damage. No more than 10secs.
  20. Joined the lifeboat. Still working out if I have a full brain or not.......
  21. Yes Now I'm confused, a plus temp will get cold or hot. A minus temp will get colder the higher it goes into the minus, Or it will cool back to 0 then it warms up. I think.
  22. Will have a word with pat and see if he can get one sent down before I go. Then get and action shot
