1. That's the ones. I do remember in college taking them off to do the rebuilds. Damn heavy old lumps they are. And my mate who will remain nameless had hold of the ram used as a top link to level the forks, I took the pipes off and told him to just drop it........ He stunk of hyd oil for weeks.
2. Brilliant. Top man. If you are ever coming through my area let me know. Will be more than glad to give you the tour. And if you want to add any company details to it somewhere please do.
3. Yep pretty much anything that oddball said in the film. Especially about using paint in the tanks...
4. Forks on the back is a good idea, saves buying a whole new machine. Try fruit farmers. They normally have some good stuff.
5. That is awesome H-a. What would be the cost of one. Want one to put down the lifeboat. We have oars on the daughter craft, it's used for beach landing, and is also Incase things go a bit wrong, has an outboard but also has two oars for when the outboard fails. So these come in when you are up .... Creek.... Lol.
6. On another note. Was looking through the bits box today and found a pot and tilson carb for a husky saw. I don't have a clue what it's from. Will get some pics up of it, see if anyone knows, it's in perfect nick. Got given it in a box of stuff. Also have a chain cover aswell, but again no idea what it's off.
7. If I remember rightly it was in for running problems. I do remember something about a clutch, but may have been a different saw with a clutch issue. Good luck with it, and if you get really stuck send it my way again. Will take a look at it for you.
8. Is this the one I had in a year ago???
9. Your missis will be woundering why your in the garage all night when no saws have arrived......
10. And just to add to mine. The chain is on the right way round? Electric saws of the cheap variety can be a pita. I have fixed a few in the past and most times it's cheaper to buy another than repair one.
11. run the chain in the bar off the saw. a vice makes this easier to hold the bar. but the chain should run along it easily. if it doesnt its either the bar or the chain, check the bar is straight, and the rails are ok, if there us a nise sprocket check this rotates easily. then look at the chain, are the drive links all good, as said is there a tight spot on the chain that is not moving freely on the rivits?>??
12. I have had this with a farmboss saw before but with the high low screws. I didn't use nail varnish as I didn't have any. Will have to send the wifey put with a shopping list now. Will be sure to keep it well hidden from customers tho. Lol. May get some funny looks.
13. My applause goes to you barrie. You have helped me out countless times. And I was wondering who had given this. Top man.
14. It's that time of year. Everyone rushing to get bits out. I ordered a brake band on Wednesday last week and it hasn't arrived yet. And it was from someone I have used loads of times before. So expecting it Monday.
15. Where do all these customers come from.. I have never been given a saw, normally I get asked, "I've got this old saw in the shed, it doesn't run properly, any chance you could look at it for me?" So I check it over and with a few tweaks it runs perfectly, normally a fuel change and a few pipes Then they want it back. And I would really like some free saws.....lol Good find by the way.
16. I have seen plenty, and most where my old boss. Plenty of times I had to go and "rescue" the tractor from a car. Once was the tractor on the car bonnet. So the car must have stopped but the tractor didn't. Have seen cars in hedgerows with tractor jamming them in. Have pulled tractors out of ditches after going to fast round a corner, that was a younger driver. Have also pulled a tractor upright back onto its wheels after the grain trailer pushed it round a corner and it jackknifed,... Yeah plenty of accidents, but on a percentage I would have to say its, 40% older drivers and 60% younger. Must be a mentality of "it's a big machine, they will move"
17. My very first tractor driving experience. A John Deere, 7810, with huge silage trailer on the back. Up and down the lanes and a busy main road. Stalled the tractor pulling out of a junction and it took forever to get it going again due to the gearing controls being part electronic. Sat at the junction with traffic building up either side. I then went onto pulling 7 furrow ploughs, combi drill/power harrow, grain trailers and bale trailers. On my last job the farmer brought a huge sub spoiler that weighed around 4t on a 3 point linkage on a jd 8100, with front weights if you pulled away too quick the front would lift and you would lose steering, plus it would leave a big mess on the Tarmac behind. I done this once. And most of this was on a learner license, Yet an older driver done it almost every time. There are marks in almost every gateway now when I drive past. So yes I have seen both good and bad, and I can safely say that the law needs to be changed. You can't pull a big trailer without a license, you can't go in a 7.5t anymore. So why be able to drive easily what is effectively an arctic lorry on the road with leaner plates????
18. The sawpod for the silky is fantastic. Makes the silky so much more comfy on the legs. And it keeps the handle away from the leg so it doesn't get caught or snagged by trousers. And doesn't rub. I love mine. But another will always be welcome.
19. That would be wolfie. He done the same last year. I don't know why but I really want to win the lift harness. Edit. And the sexy chainsaw oil.... Some very good prizes again this year. And well done again mr b. Good to hear you have reduced the workload and also leading to the stress level. Will get me some tickets. But to increase my odds I'm going to buy some with a space between them:001_cool:
20. Looking good. I see the fifty shades is back again. Lol. They are making a film about it.....
21.
Yes Jon. I do repair all garden machinery. I do not mod to an extent as porting saws out, but I have been known to mod the odd 200t saw.

22. sort of. same principle. would love to see a few people do it now tho.
23. Good. I would like to see the law changed. It needs to be changed. No two ways about it. If you can't drive a car then what's to say you can drive a heavy machine....?
24. Taking the wheels off is good. Removing the tow bar isn't that good. As with the tow ball locks they can just tie it up and tug it to a quiet spot where they can get to work with the grinders in piece. Or just lift it away. Make a presence over the winter break, go and visit the lock up now and again. And move a few things outside so it looks like there is someone there. A nice drive out and visit on Xmas day never goes a miss either.
