1. Sounds like it ran short of fuel. Check fuel filter and pipe, also check tank breather.

Ok. It's a border force trial boat. It's on sea trials. The mounted gun is a 40mm grenade mortar. They have been used in the Somalia pirates battles and is now looking to be had by the border force. Bloody fast aswell. 50-60knts. And wll fly. Inboard impella driven.

Let's see who knows there boats. This was in the marina today. Who can tell me what it is used for? We had a good look but wasn't allowed pictures inside her. But I can say it was awesome.
  4. Been around Dave when he was using his saws this week. Did have a go aswell. I like the 372, it doesn't bog. But the 350 is horrible. Bogs down easily IMO and Is just too loud. I couldn't work with it all day long.... But dave loves them so I guess that's what counts. Just found it too loud. God knows how your neighbours haven't been onto the council yet.
  5. Really. Didn't have much trouble getting new rollers. And not a roller bearing either, there was an issue but that was because of the dealer, nothing to do with mech, they actually sent one out before the dealer did after the fiasco.....
  6. I bet you was searching about petrol and aspen....:001_tt2::001_tongue:
  7. Green mech would have eaten that before it hit the Shute......
  8.:lol: I don't think we would ever hear from spud again.....
  9. Ok. If not I've got a few weighted filters knocking around that I could let you have one of.
  10. :blushing: :lol: just noticed they are the crap and very brittle stihl ones...... Sorry my bad. My eyes must be playing up.
  11. Urm. Aren't they the wrong way round? Or are my eyes just going....
  12.

Ok Pete. Thanks. Yes red when revs drop green when at working speed. It is clever. And I guess more reliable than a sensor. Seems that way to me.

I do love green mechs and after using all the others I have told Dave that if he gets a timberwolf next he had better make sure it comes with a groundie as I won't use it. Lol.

Will test the coil Tommorow. Many thanks again.

Hello Pete, just a question as to how the stress control picks up that the engine is starting to struggle. This one doesn't have a sensor on the flywheel. So does it register a drop in volts at the alternator?

Cheers for all the help.

  14. Had a look today, before work. There is no sensor on the flywheel so I take it it comes from the alternator. Clever design. Will check out the solenoid, didn't have the voltmeter with me today, so will take that with me and look at it. God I love green mech. Just looking at the parts diagrams and the hydraulic diagram, the bypass for the stress control is very clever. Good as it gets you out of trouble when you need it to work. Good machines. Good service. Many thanks Pete. Will let you know if the coil is gone. But looking that way.
  15. Depends on what you are doing with it to say its gutless.
  16. Ok so update time I guess. So looked at all the air pipes, also cleaned the vacuum hoses. Still the same. Checked the filter primer, didn't go too stiff when pumped. So swapped it out before heading off with the other vans, filter and housing. Ran like a dream So new filter on order and new one in other van. There is a small brass filter on the out flow bolt on the filter housing, this was also gunked up, so cleaned that out aswell. Thanks for all the hints people. And I'm sure the owner will be along as apparently he fixed it this morning, so I'm leaving the chipper in his hands to fix, :001_tt2: But it still hadn't got the power it had when he got it, the other van has way more power in it. Might look at a turbo service kit at some point.
  17. Just get a simple fuel filter, so long as the pipe is the same swap it out. Use a weighted one and whatever position the saw is in the filter will be at the bottom on the fuel.
  18. From peteb. Sounds like an electrical issue. Check the wiring from the box, from inside, through to the Hershman plug on the solenoid. It should get 12v at max speed which drops off as the revs drop. The light should be green at working speed, if it is still red, it is not receiving a signal from the alternater or the sensor on the flywheel bearing depending on age. The sensor takes pulses off a bearing collar and should have a indicator light to show it is registering a pulse. The gap between the lugs on the collar and the sensor can be from 1.5mm to 6mm I believe. Try looking at these for a result. Rich, I've forgotten my login for this section, please cut and paste this response. Cheers Thanks, will look into it. The light is changing from red to green.
  19. 039, blocked tank breather. Green mech cm220, not in feeding. Shut off the stress control solenoid and works. So checking out the solenoid.
  20. Is it weighted? Normally have a weight on it so it falls with gravity.
  21. Cm220 again. Feed rollers will reverse, stop, but not feed in. After turning to the run and engine building up they will turn then just stop. They will reverse. So outing a pump issue. Now a question. Under the battery box is what I'm presuming to be the stress control. There is a tap on the pipe. With this off the rollers will turn. But no stress control. Does this mean the solenoid is shot? Or the sensor is shot? And what's the voltage to check the solenoid is getting power. The green and red light still work like they should?
  22. Not much time today to do anything to it, drove it down the road, it will get up there then die back, just like it's running out of fuel, almost exactly, then puff out white smoke, then you have to drop the revs as it feels like it will blow up......
  23. Because I just am. A few things really, no loss of comp. engine starts first time every time. Hot or freezing cold. Plus the tell tales are not there. Oil and water bits are all good. I've fixed head gaskets far too many times on far too many types of engine to know when one has gone. Will change the filter tomoz. Have an identical van luckily that I can try bits from to see if it's anything like.
  24. Nope. As why would it rev right up to redline in the first place and hold there for a time before dropping right down again. And then loosing the power. If it was fuel related it would just run like a bag o whatnot.
