  1. I have no interest in a ported saw at all. Tried it once and didn't actually see a difference. So they will be lost on me, as a rule it's a case of if it ain't broke don't fix it. Yes the ms200t mods are very simple, but just goes to show that stihl don't need to be ported to get any more power from them As they are just powerful enough as they are. Wish people would now stop bringing me into all this porting stuff, I have had my peace with spud over it all and I now stay out of it, people want it done that's there business not mine. Spud does a fantastic job at what he does, I do a good job at what I do. Well no complaints yet. So please people this is a polite request to keep me out of it.
  2. Don't even go there. It will be the first job I do in the morn, just to get it out the way. Half the battle will be removing all the bits. I did own one of these before it went bang a couple of years ago. First job. Remove the carpets, then remove all the plastics under the window. Then look for obvious light coming through. Then start with the hose pipe and see what happens. I'm hoping it's the plugs as the owner said it only happened in the heavy rain, but the light rain or car wash it didn't happen.

Harbour master didn't want it coming into entrance and sinking, then they have a wreck in the entrance, and with ferries every 15mins they didn't want to risk a closure to the entrance. Would be mayhem. Had it before. They have to look after there harbour. Plus as soon as it's water tight again they can either sail it in or get it towed from the beach. There is a place one the beach that has chains and winches to pull it right up the beach.

Dover lifeboat tasked by the coastguard after a mayday was received. No further communication was received from the vessel. So the radio signal was triangulated and a position was given. Lifeboat on scene 40 minutes after mayday was sent. A motor vessel was taking on water at a rapid rate and there was a very large hole in the hull. Salvage pump was used and the casualty was towed towards Dover but not allowed into the harbour. So was towed and beached. 3 persons saved.
  5. How mangled are they? Could cut a straight groove in them and use a large flat head driver to put them in? Not an answer that most will go with. But for getting out the poo a bit of hill billy fix.
  6. Bar looks good eddy, done by a local fabricator I take it? Not going to fit on the bench as such but also got a 13t excavator that will be needing new sprockets not the tracks. Nearly a saw as they are sprockets, just about 50x the size of a chainsaw one. Should be nice and fun getting the tracks off. Guess this is where the 4 yrs in agri college will come in. And if I lose a finger or two I can then join the arb talk tech missing finger club.......:laugh1:
  7. On a green mech, if they are the ones I'm thinking off the won't work. The ones that fit on a green mech need to be flush with the fixing as they are close to rubbing edges. Like the blade bolts or the rollers bolts. A pretruding head will catch and cause one hell of a mess. Too far for me aswell or I would look in the workshop as there are bags and bags of nuts and bolts.
  8. B and q? If desperate. Get some cheaper ones and as soon as you can get the right ones.
  9. Just done a bit of research on the internet. Seems there are a few places. And most people have just taken off what they could from the bulk head and undersealed the entire thing. Also put sealant around all the seals on servos and steering column. Will give that a go after I have used a hose on it to see if it's obvious. Edit. Can't be window seal eddy as they are resin sealed in, so no chance as the glass over laps the sealing area.
  10. Yes it is. Was going to do some research on it tonight, but if you have an idea I'm all in.
  11. 3 ms200t. Ms260, ms290, tw150. Not sure on toppers, won't run right, one won't stop and the av mount on one has gone at the front has gone. Ms260, low comp. so will look at piston. Ms290, chain keeps going slack. Tw150, blade change, belts slipping. This is all done. And a vauxhall corsa, leaking when it rains into footwell. All these except the tw are for Monday.
  12. The 088, all be it the same size, is a bit bigger cc wise, it also is unrestricted to the 880 as it didn't come into the emissions restrictions that the 880 had when it was made so it has more grunt to it.
  13. Sorry Jon, but 088 every time. Coil pack. But both are just pure pred monsters....
  14. I would try this out, just block the hole in the air box cover aswell.
  15. You will be ok as the knocker hangs on the nearside. And unless they drive on the wrong side of the road like the French there will be no chance of it getting clobbered. Unless you do what I done with a hedge flail and take out a lamp post
  16. And the right way round? I've done this before and it was the same. Also is the clutch on the right way round? And is the drum the right one for the saw? Sound strange, unless there is something worn out. Like the worm gear.
  17. Have you put the big washer behind the worm gear? The blooming great big one with top written on one side?
  18. What garden kit said john. But they are for some reason known to fail after a while. Don't know why, and will probably never know. Buy a spare as they don't cost much, if you really love the 4 mix rubbish anyway. Personally I would ditch it for another. How's the chipper doing?
  19. Well that tractors tiny. I really wouldn't worry over it. Just measure the whole width, so long as it's doesn't go over 2.9m you will be fine. Modern tractors are a set width unless they are tracked, like the case quad trak, or a combine. Yours will be fine.
  20. That is the edge the clip sits in. The sprocket is on the other edge. So that adage out wards.
  21. Recessed edge out wards, so it's flat against the teeth. Then the clip sits in the groove as such. Hth. There is a small amount of play in them anyway.
  22. Try this. If this works. Looks like the 300mm thing applies. But as a trailer it must not exceed 2.9m. http://new.ifa.ie/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=oTc_dWIlb0o%3D&t
  23. The wheel count as overhang. Of course this all changes with dual wheels. I only know the overhang for standard, as I remember reading it in a manual. I may have all changed now tho. Will do a search in a min.
  24. From memory, overhang can be 30cm from the most outer edge of the tractor. Normally the rear light cluster. And there must be lights showing on the back, either on implement or tractor one visible.
