  1. My question is why on earth did you bother repairing the 170 when you had a perfectly good 260????? A meteor piston is only 26 quid off the bay......
  2. And there comes the stupid bit. My illness is due to me and waste oil and fuel on my hands by not wearing gloves working it's way into my system through my stomach..... Some people make my blood boil.
  3. It's stupid if you ask me. Suppose to be "drink responsibly" When I was younger we just called it drinking games......
  4. Funny part is when I'm down at the lifeboat station the m20/a20 runs right alongside us, and I'm always seeing arctics going past with timber.....
  5. The cut off saws are generally good. I had two in the workshop a short while ago, made a good one from them both. One the handle had broken. The pickup was fine, as with all cutters they do take a few seconds to get going on the disc. But will die down ok and return to tick over without a problem. First see if it will tick over with the screw in. If it doesn't send it back. But you will probably send it back anyway.
  6. Ok first sorry if this is in the wrong bit but looking for prices for arctic loads delivered to Dover. With that bit seperate and can me modded and I can get told to put it on arb trader if I can't put it here. Is it just me or are arctic loads of timber like rocking horse poo? I have seen them advertised on here but before I can even reply to any they are gone?
  7. Any chance of a close look at the top. That does look good. And I like the side aswell. Is it the same the other side? Or is it just one sided?
  8. Send him a pm bud. This post is a bit old now.
  9. Agree with this a bit. It's hard to say about home made stuff as you never really know what has been used pump wise. If the pump is right and it has now power then there maybe a fault with the valves, has it even got a return valve for the oil when it goes above the pump pressure? Sounds like there is no release and the engine is stopping due to too much back pressure on the pump. But then 8hp does sound a bit small.
  10. Not likely. They will only drop down to where the screw is holding the throttle open, won't go any lower. Sounds more like a low side on the carb problem. Give it a good clean out, the usual way. Also try it without the air filter in place. Ms200t done today, tweaked and 020 carb on. Running like stink. And that's all today, really couldn't do much more. Just wanted to go home.
  11. A day for the gasket and a day for the clutch. Should be less but always add on a few hours for hiccups. No idea on cost so contact local garage and get a quote. Be the best bet.
  12. Or they are from a freelander....:lol::lol:
  13. Traction tyres are used on forklifts mainly. Solid tyres. Could be from something olive green, but now it's forklift for the odd skid steer loader.
  14. What he said. Those reamers look a bit old so wouldn't suprise me they didn't work. Used in a very large pillar drill/milling drill. More of a precision machine. Have one in the workshop I have been using.
  15. What he said That rope should be the other way. Anti clockwise. Also check the pawls on the flywheel are free to move.
  16. About right. Unless you want the expense of buying the proper tool. But unless you sharpen a lot of cutters it won't pay. A small disc is the easiest way, but remember a cutting disc is not designed to grind.
  17. Chainsaw bars.co.uk is rob d on here. Good service and knowledgable. He also does a lot of milling. I don't mill but the semi is good for use as it won't blunt out as quick as full if you hit anything and is also easy to sharpen back up the full. Some do use skip or semi skip aswell.
  18. Now here is a thread I can enjoy. Just read the whole thing. And again Barrie has proved he holds the entire encyclopedia of mower knowledge. Will be adding a few as I go along aswell. Another good thread.
  19. Well. Just my luck that today I have caught a virus. Feeling sick as a parrot today, and eye of the needle doesn't do it justice. Nearly called an ambulance as I completely passed out in the toilet earlier aswell. Just went. Got really hot and sweaty, then just face planted the floor, the other half found me. So been in bed all afternoon. Just trying to keep my fluids up. Not a good day today.
