  13. Yea . I'm not looking forward to bloody dying again !
  14. Yep . I see all the above . So to get away from peeps sniping and dissing .....the general trend in modern day farming is to direct drill into last years ground ( with a different crop ) . and not to plough . All this is based on a gamble at the price per ton somewhere between now and harvest . With a " scratchit drill " you can get a crop in the ground with no ploughing at all and not set free any carbon . . Say best malting barley . If its going to end up at ยฃ120/ton ( un likely ) . you think it will reach ยฃ130/ton then the fuel you save by not ploughing is worth it . You will get a slightly reduced yeald this way but the money you save on deisel . Once it goes over ยฃ 150 , and probably up to ยฃ 200/ ton Then it is worth ploughing and drilling and rolling etc coz you will end up better off . does that make sense ?
  15. Yep .
  16. Yes all that but I thought they were talking about a film of it being started .

    Jokes???

    Defined or defied ?
  18. Ok . but in my experience ( 70 years old next birthday ) dependent on the degree of loss of compression a low comp saw won't restart once up to temp . ( just speaking as me really ) .
  19. Yes clearances open up to the point where it won't support combustion .
  20. If I were going to buy one ( I am not ) I would rather they were started from hot and left to tick over for a bit . That way you would know that compression is good . Low comp engine will run for a bit when cold but once warmed up they stop and won't restart .
  21. Ah , bless ๐Ÿ™‚
  22. Well I have just learned how Steve does it . Perhaps you could give him some tips ?
