    For that " down on the ground " stuff a forestry clearing saw would bosh that of in minutes

    Why not support your local log merchant and get better value ? I would sooner have air dried anyway . After all 20% moisture is 20% moisture no matter how its achieved and air dried has a bit more about it if you get my meaning .

    Is that a small Burley ? If it is have you tried removing that blanking plate above the door to reveal the convection tubes ?

    Still way too warm down here in the south . 18 degrees still . Lit it once a couple of weeks back as there was a frost in the morning but let go out as it was unbearable by 08:00 am !

    Can you not harvest the radio activity and direct it to give you some more energy in these trying times ? 😄

    How old are you ? If like me you are approaching 70 then forget it ( especially as you have been drinking " fresh " water all your life ) . If you are younger it might be prudent to investigate the health hazards of some soot in your water . However you seem to have dealt with it in a common sense way so I for one am not worried about you 🙂👍

    It will be a floating rim rather than a spur but as you say easy to check .

    The hard shell is inside the green soft outer casing . The edible nut is , obviously inside the hard shell .

    The old bird would be breathing the 02 whatever the situation and he did help in the best way I think . Unless the old bird was about to run out of 02 then I think ( just me ) that the best possible outcome was achieved ( apart from the dad finishing off ) Now the lad can sort it himself . After all someone must have taught you .

    And that is not a " wrong " thing to do , at all , but , what happens the next time the young lad gets a flat out in the middle of the back of beyond , all on his jack jones ?

    I think you missed the point. Also as far as I could tell there was no gloating just helpful suggestions when a problem occurred . The only sad bit of reading was when the Dad came and finished it off .

    Have you checked to see if the impulse line is split or not connected ?
