  1. Hi woodmouse . I admire your drive I think you will go far . One small point. with a chipper you would be better off with a tipping truck with a chip box on rather that a flat bed . It would make an awful mess !
  2. Between us me and my buddy have got 3 ms200t saws . All 3 are playing up now so out of commission for a bit. As there there was no alternative (or so we thought ) we bought a 201 . I had heard some conflicting reports but I can confirm the one we have at least , is totally pants . Slow to pick up lacking in any zip when it does get up there and bogs at anything over 6 inches dia . Taking down a dead birch to day and it struggled big time . sent up a 346 Husky in the end . I was , to be honest , very surprised at the huge difference between it and a 200 . They are not on the same planet . Where o where is that T540 ?????

I think his store is a real "Aladdin's Cave " . It must be huge and some of the obscure bits and bobs he comes up with are amazing .

Randy Duncan I think ? Small engine supplier .
  5. Tee Hee It is a joke . We have three 200t that don't work and its a 3 week turn around as our dealer is snowed under . So we had to buy a 201t . It seems very light compared to the 200 but its not got the zip .

I got he big softwood dogs on mine and the hightop filter and cover , think it was jonsie that got the parts for me but any Husky dealer should be able to .
  7. I was 35 and I woke up and looked across to the woods at West Dean and they were gone . It put a lump in my throat . Some areas were replanted and others left . The areas that were left and regenerated naturally seem to have done better than the the planted areas .
  8. Fantastic fire wood when seasoned but----not for open fires as you will need a new carpet after one evening !
  9. Not acceptable . Luckily I have not had any of the problems you have had . Strange as I must have had my 560 10 months ? It is a 2011 saw.
  10. I always use a mechanical splitter . The outer grain is helical and the center is strait , nightmare to split by hand but wonderful woopd to burn .
  11. Oh no . so sad . Sorry to learn about this . Its his family that will suffer now .
  12. I use DM chainsaws " own " brand . Been using it it for ages , never let me down . Cheaper than Stihl or Husky and has those convenient graduations on the bottle .
  13. One or two 254s on ebay . Spud might help .
  14. Yep I have noticed that . Not taken any out but they all look sick in my area including 2 that did not leaf this spring .
  15. Wood can be well seasoned and still be wet . Keep it under covered but allow the air to get to it . Moisture meter is a good idea . I have logs that are 8% moisture that have been in the log basket all summer and the same batch out in the log store that read 25% .
  16. It's a black bird drive through , perhaps ?
  17. If it was in your home you are allowed reasonable force to defend " you and yours " I agree get a solicitor and take advice .
  18. I'm sixty in January , the 20th to be precise . Its my back when I first start and it eases during the day . I get whicked cramp in my thighs and hands now in the evening/ night and my jaw aches from gritting my teeth . Ho hum
  19. I would be to Mick if I sat down . Dog to walk daughter to collect from school , sharpen up ,dinner to cook ( have a shower whilst dinner is on ) . Count my blessings , there are far worse off than me I know .
  20. Working with big saws all day yesterday and today ( 395 and 390 ) Big 4 big oaks and 3 bigish field maples . All down chipped and ringed up . Huge bonfire . Now completely knackered . Will be ready ior bed by 9.00 me thinks . up again at 6.00 to do it all again !! Seriously though it does get to me now I am an old git !
