  1. They can be a pain, try taking the housing off and holding it in a vice, use large pair of grips or stillsons to undo.
  2. If it gives further trouble test the small wire voltage with it connected by probeing the back of terminal, it should still read 12v ,if there is a poor conection in the circuit the voltage can drop when under extra load. If the voltage has droped The problem is normally located at the dash,ie bulb or fitting or the loom harness conections. One of the loom conectors being at fault would explain loss of other systems, lights, charging and forward/reverse if fitted with power shuttle are all common to this fault. If you ever see one of these plugs apart you'll see why.
  3. Struggle to find it much cheaper, last one i fitted was similar price, only available from ford.
  4. Yep. Fairly simple to do. Getting the gland nut undone is the hardest part normally. What is the condition of the ram rod and is there any excessive movement where the rod slides in and out?
  5. Haha! Very good. The 660 will service a multiple of uses.
  6. If weight isn't an issue the 660 opens up the option of using bigger bars if ever required.
  7. Odd heavy shower, some strong gusts of wind, generally miserable. Went out to clear some small wind blown stuff off the fences, had to sack the job,to much debris falling out the trees still. Tyz, in not so sunny Devon.
  8. Would be fine on a 20" but do you wanna carry that weight round all day?I had a 20" on my 390xp,cut like stink but I felt it at the end of the day.
  9. As everyone else has said, sounds like it stuck to the flywheel, start it in gear if you have room, might have to by-pass safety start switch. Be careful and be prepared to stop the engine if you have to. Use low gear to get it out shed if you have to. Take care though.
  10. I've got no access to the workshop till new year coz the boss is on winter hols. I'll have a look asap, see if I can get a copy of the wiring diagram and fuse panel. The main problem with the electrics on them is the large multi pin plugs in the loom, the tiny connections normally fail. I take it the battery light comes on? Did you measure the voltage on the little wire while it was connected to the alternator or unplugged?
  11. Fairly basic under the dash, whats the problem? I'm guessing by your post in the other thread that it's not charging?or not starting?I work on them regularly might be able to point you where to look.
  12. Might have one at work, boss used to work for JCB. What do you need to know?
  13. I started a similar thread recently to try a decide on either ms460 or ms441. Ended up buying a 372xp,been impressed so far. In comparison the ms441 feels a little flat, and is noticeably heavier. Main reason I brought the 372 was weight, got a 20"bar on mine and can't believe how well balanced it feels.
  14. Can be a time consuming job rebuilding diffs when done proper. Also recall someone up Yeovil way selling ex MOD stuff but was a while ago now, can't remember the name now.
  15. Under the dash below the steering column?
  16. Have you considered repairing it? Or is it beyond that? Could try Tredown Landrovers at Holsworthy they break landrovers.
  17. If you need any EOBD codes translated let me know. Can't be sure if Mitsubishi use 16pin EOBD connection but it should at that age.
  18. The Dafs are out the ground 4" round our way.
  19. Sound advice that bud :thumbup:lot quicker than swimming.
  20. The only thing they're good for is washing the dog in.
  21. A pen or permanent marker? Ink stained the wood?
  22. Gutted for you, they will go to extraordinary lenghts to steal stuff, crossing fields, ditchs, rivers, over walls. Not to long ago I was told of a quad bike which had been winched out through the roof of a large building. Unfortunately it seems this type of crime is very well organised. Hope you get your gear back. I know what you ment spud.
