  1. Must be a husky thing, had the same trouble with my 372 when it was new. I just squirt a bit of oil over occasionally.
  2. Think I'd rather wear chaps.....
  3. Husky 390xp for me. The372xp close second.
  4. Sounds like a fault with the key switch or ignition relay, leaking voltage through when it shouldnt. Get it to a garage. Disconnect the battery to avoid it going flat, just be careful re-connecting it.
  5. Racing motocross, nothing serious. In the early stages of preparation for 2012,gives me something to focus on other than work. I try to play guitar when I get time
  6. It would seem so,I can't find em now. The plot thickens......
  7. I'm no expert on this e-bay jobby but at a guess I reckon he hasn't got any, yet. Assume he has been given a price for chain saw, example ms880-48"bar £1200,he sets his reserve at £1300. What ever sells he buys in as required. If it don't meet the reserve I don't matter coz he hasn't even brought them. ???? Just thought.
  8. I've got a snap-on 18v cordless, awsome tool but you won't undo 677nm wheel nuts with it,I've tried on lorries. If you can find a cordless gun that'l do that let me know!
  9. Sorry to hear that chap,ta for the heads up,I'm in mid Devon. Seems to be have been a problem recently round here.
  10. I can't comment on durability but recently brought a pair if hi flex class 2,tried the stretch airs aswell but they were a lot heavier and bulky than the hiflex. The stretch airs did look more durable to be fair but too restrictive for me.
  11. Cheers for the follow up,info helpful for future reference.
  12. Need to find why it broke/seized in the first place.wait to hear what some of the other members have to say or check out the thread "what's on your bench today" in the chainsaw section. It ain't gonna be as simple as fit a new piston,it never is.
  13. Not had much experience with them but has it got low engine oil/pressure cut off? Just a thought really,??
  14. Gensetsteve. If possible could you pm me your JCB chassis number. I've found some manuals of various spec machines but electrics manuals total about 150 pages! Should narrow it down.Any particular diagrams you require other than Dash and fuse panel?
  15. It needs to be complete to to cover inlet and exaust ports at the correct point of the engine cycle. One of the clever members will explain shortly.
  16. This is old now but if you've never seen it.....
  17. Five days to go to start of the sx season, can't wait!

    Dakar 2012

Jorge Martinez Boero was the rider killed,RIP. A chilling reminder of how extreme the Dakar rally is.
  19. Give up smoking, get back into shape to race mx again, had last year off and lost a load of weight(muscle). The smoking will be be the biggest hurdle,I'm gasping already.
  20. Dont think you need to change much personally, think your doing darn good job already. looking forward to more of the same in 2012. Maybe a category section for clothing/PPE?
  21. I hate working on the modern ones, electrics wise,as the other chap said, all yellow wires with tiny tracer numbers on,relays every where, absolute nightmare. If we can't fix em in a hour we don't bother, let JCB do it,to much hassle for us and can't justify diagnostic equipment. Most customers understand. It aint just JCB though.
  22. Should always have a battery lamp.you need ti find out why that aint working, try checking the connections on the ignition switch. If the battery light doesn't work it's because of a fault between your ignition source and the small alternator terminal. Effectively the voltage travels from ignition switch to bulb to alternator. if the bulb ain't on it's either not getting sufficient voltage from ignition or poor earth on the alternator side. Back to work tues, try and find some diagrams for you. Happy new year.
  23. A good workman never blames his tools...... because a good work man allways looks after them. Happy new year one n all.
  24. Piston looks brand new, reckon the marks on the cylinder are smears of excess fuel/oil. Flooded.
