  1. You can't buy anything but softwood over here, and we're not all sat around shivering and wishing we lived in that mythical land where ash and oak firewood grows on trees 😁😁 Seriously I've not found a softwood yet that doesn't heat my house when properly dried
  2. Yeah, that was really offensive 😁😁
  3. Forgot the photo of my darling
  4. Well if you put it like that... it may not have been quite as offensive as it first seemed
  5. Sorry mate, just shown this to my Mrs and she reckons she'd need a LOT more pints before she found that photo attractive 😁
  6. Hey matt, is that the one back from spud or have you killed another one?
  7. Rent boy?? 😁😁
  8. Neat idea with the steering but he was about the most annoying presenter I've ever come across. You could tell the driver of the first mog wasn't too keen on him.
  9. They're a lot better than my first attempt, Mine first bowl is affectionately know as the dog bowl!
  10. Or both maybe!😁

    eBay bargain

Just asked him where the chainbrake is, god I must be bored!
  12. According to morso they don't need replacing if they crack From the morso FAQs THE VERMICULITE PLATES*OR BRICKS IN MY STOVE HAVE CRACKED. SHOULD THEY BE REPLACED? Cracks in the bricks/vermiculite plates*may happen due to bumps from the wood. There is no need to replace the bricks even though they are cracked. They do still insulate the fire chamber. The purpose of the bricks is to insulate the fire chamber to increase the combustion temperature. However, if they start crumbling, the insulation disappears. This may damage the cast iron and they do in this case have to be replaced. *
  13. I hope you're getting a good response for this, great to see manufacturers seeking our opinions
  14. Double wall flue, either inside or outside
  15. Hairpin legs turned up at last, chosen and supplied by customer. As Rob said, easy and quick way of putting legs on a coffee table and in this case the customer wanted unobtrusive legs so as not to take away from the burr top. Really quite pleased with how this table has turned out, finished with osmo top oil. Measures 30" x 12", and 13" high. Its going in a newly rebuilt one bedroom cottage which will be a holiday let, will see if I can get some photos of it in place.
  16. Lovely and dry today Jon, day off beating on local shoot
  17. That chap would be our very own Gardenkit 👍👍
  18. So what you're saying is that the concept of voluntary work has been made illegal by the minimum wage law if the volunteer receives any type of benefit. If this is correct then I'm very surprised we haven't heard a lot more about it from a great many organisations. Back to the o/p, I hope you find the right person for the job, sounds ideal for the right candidate. Where about in Devon is it?
  19. Can anyone work out how the wood is fixed to the axes? Would have to be fixed some how
  20. I had this a while back, got a new granberg chain off of RobD and milled some ash in the morning all was well. Went out in the afternoon to mill a few sticks on the local estate, was told they were Scots pine and had nothing but trouble, having to sharpen every cut at least. Tried removing the bark but it was still the same. In the end I pulled out of the job till I could work out what was wrong. Used the same chain, sharpened exactly the same way, to mill a big burry elm last week and all was well. Came to the conclusion it was the timber, quite what it was in the timber I don't know but it certainly caused me to doubt my sharpening for a bit.

    brand

Did a bit of research into this a year or so back and these guys were recommended on a forum somewhere (might even have been on here) Never did anything about it but they did come highly recommended, have that look of proper craftsmen about their work. http://www.spanglefish.com/metalstamps/index.asp
  22. Yes, they're great axes, far better than anything else I've used. I'm close to 50 and I'm half and half axe and splitter
  23. How much does that hold?
  24. Had this with my 660, striped, cleaned and greased and its fine now
  25. Is it worth risking it? What's the oil worth compared to your saws?
