  1. You wouldn't have the wrecked wrists if you fitted a winch :D Edit. Rob beat me to it
  2. Tank vent blocked?
  3. A mate handed me a husky 372 the other day, he'd picked this up a couple of months ago and at the time I said I thought it had an air leak, was holding onto revs badly. Whipped off exhaust and sure enough as I looked through the exhaust port of the Chinese cylinder there was plenty of damage to the equally Chinese piston. Continued to strip the saw, carb boot seemed in good condition as was the impulse line. Took off the clutch and as I removed the oil pump so the crank seal and part of the crank case came with it!!! I think this ones a right off. Pictures after I'd cleaned it all up a bit Turned the piece of crank case over, someone had tried to stick it back together with sealant at sometime (the black stuff)
  4.:eek: severed it!? Hope the op goes well and you recover swiftly and fully
  5. My thoughts exactly, on the face of it the neighbours have shown no respect
  6. Its a bit like Jeremy Clarkson.... POWER I mill with a 660 with a 36" bar and always want more power on the bigger stuff but can't justify a 880 ATM. As Hodge said a 36" bar will give you about 30" cut. No doubt there will be far more knowledgeable people along soon.
  7. No didn't order it Barrie, not with that sort of postage cost, could have got it airmail from the US for less than the expensive one! In the end I tracked one down on a scrap saw👍👍
  8. I fully understand that its not easy accommodating all the different variables on a website, it must be an absolute nightmare. In this situation I didn't phone either vendor as I recently placed a phone order (non arb related) which went astray (was never sent and company had no record of the order but had the money) and it turned out to be a fair bit of hassle so I would much rather place an order online as there is then a paper/email trail making things a lot easier when things get overlooked.
  9. To put the above prices into context, I'm having a wooden front door delivered for £45
  10. Had a husky 350 on the bench today leaking fuel, turned out the tank vent was missing so I went online to order one. Price of this part was in the region of a tenner and is about the size of the end of my little finger, all good so far, 2 places listed them online and then I checked the postage costs at which point I had a shock. One place wanted £20 and the other wanted £29+vat just for the postage! Now as I live on a Scottish island I expect to pay a little more for certain items but anything that can go by royal mail is exactly the same price as anywhere else in the country and I'd be quite happy to pay a small amount for this service. Surely it's about time dealers worked out a better system for parts delivery to what one company refer to as "exotic postcodes," I can you it wasn't very exotic in the rain today. 😁
  11. I got hold of some rubber safety mats from kiddies play area, only trouble is they are 11/2" thick so means the bench is effectively lower and I was stooped over when working at it so I put some under the bench legs to raise it, works a treat
  12. I must have died loads of times falling out of trees as a kid then
  13. Jonsies must be pretty close http://www.frjonesandson.co.uk
  14. Well obviously just the one, cos its a one ton pickup 😁😁
  15. I think that works the same for any 4x4 pick up, if it's full up its a ton
  16. To be fair mate it has turned a wee bit since I wrote that yesterday! Wet and windy night last night
  17. So far this autumn has been considerably drier than normal.
  18. Pretty much only use L&S now, used to get stuff from Mister Solutions but was messed a out quite a bit a couple of years ago, might have just been a glitch for a couple of months but L&S are so good there doesn't seem much point in going anywhere else.
  19. Got a similar question, (was going to post this evening but as its been brought up). Making an elm burr coffee table to go in a holiday cottage, so will be used by different people each week some of whom won't care if they mark the table or not. What finish would you recommend? I've looked at the osmo site and top oil seems to Bethe one they recommend, what do you guys think. I guess the answers are the same as above though.
  20. Too far away from me but good on you for putting it on here. Great to see trees like this getting used

  22. For a 30 metre job you're not going to save any significant amount of time with a paslode over a hammer and I've never seen a hammer not work cos the gas is too cold!
  23. For a 30 Meter one off job I'd be picking up a hammer!
