  1. the goretex can't breath when the garment is dirty. this results in the operators sweat building up on the inside of the jacket making it seem like the jacket is leaking. regular cleaning is the key. and the scotch guard can (so i have been told) last three washes. but i have just applied some fabsil (silicone based product) to my kayaking cag.. when i run it under water, i pull it away and there is not even a bead of water there!!! i have read on the Internet some where about painting ya coat with ronseal but i am not to convinced!!
  2. talking about getting sap of ya gear, more specifically saws... a friend took his saw to a local place to be serviced. he payed 50 notes for what i could see was a new pull cord and a clean but by god was it clean!!! 7 year old top handle that genuinely came back looking like new and i mean new!!! wish i could find out what they used?
  3. i think the stuff that goes in the water contains corrosion inhibitors. a Vit like the additives in antifreeze. as said before i am not sure how helpful they are.
  4. yes that was quoted for akvaterm. did a show at the nec with the chap who designs them from finland, interesting chap. get a lot of quotes and do the research. there is a lot of information out there so it pays to know what the sales man is going on about and to avoid the wool over the eyes. plumbing them in is easy. some installations i have seen have holes drilled everywhere in the walls where pipes have been moved etc. so make sure every thing is planned out and drawn up. you can not do too much planning. a good installation looks the muts a bad one will be pants. orientation of boiler door etc
  5. Tis is sitting in the van type of weather me thinks Cold but dry down in charmouth. Good working weather
  6. big up the nuffield contingent!!!!! an exclusive club! mine cost 900 notes, requires a little bit of work to the brakes and general tlc o and its a 6 cylinder, apparently the extra two make all the difference!!!
  7. windy and cold up on the brendon hills here. little bit of snow last night
  8. i am a dont have the money for the two trucks but think the best compromise would be a hilux tipper. i currently have a fourtrak fieldman. have would the diesel pump up so towing is a doddle. and is better than a landrover off road and it has the bonus of not breaking down like a landy!!
  9. i once got told at the heart of any good fire is a tyre.. not very environmentaly friendly. i would get a stihl blower, able to whip up a disco inferno out of anything!!!!!!
  10. i work with people who like a toke at night, doesnt seem to affect there work but get the odd mood swing and one sometimes struggles to remember his name. it does seem to me thou that all the best climbers have done a lot of drugs in the past. thats why i am not the top climber
  11. i have always done it like that. i have strop on the left with a man bag behind to contain the strop rope to stop tangling. chainsaw clipped centre back to facilitate the reach around. tool clip rear right to clip saw on and silky in front of that although that can be a pain at times
  12. right, i not sure it is right for a bloke to slate someone for loading up on a break when, i am certain anybody in tree surgery has done this, they would drive round in a transit tipper loaded with chip towing a chipper. where is your tacho in that instance? i doubt it that there is a tacho and i wouldn't expect one because we all dance with the law to make things pay. Who would go and tip off when the chip was level with the tailgate?? certainly not me or any other tree surgeon i have ever met!! go forth and drive a trailer without the ticket, drive overloaded, load up in ya break. may the force be with you
  13. try the Christmas tree place (langford lakes) out at langford budville. he usually takes what we got. i would probably use a different tactic like good chip for mulch. worth a punt and only ten mins from taunton
  14. i just do it with me blackberry using the basic documents app that comes with the phone. i did an invoice on my laptop, saved it on my phone, then i open it up with documents to go on my phone, and basically use the original invoice as a template. then save as the new invoice number, attach it to the email and bobs your uncle. i love it. i do all my invoicing on my phone, the only drawback is the small screen.
  15. got the stihl one, but think he is getting on a bit. but can justify a new one til this one breaks.. might be a while
  16. whats all this talk about getting groundie?? i at times, when the mrs is unavailable, do the whole operation on me own- climbing/ lowering. can get a little complicated at times but needs must. when i say one man band...
  17. they are so efficient. the accumulator tank works at the rate of 1 degree loss over 24hours!! hard to get ya head round! i would plumb iin with an existing system then you can have it so that if the log boiler is out of wood the oil/ gas kicks in happy days. i used to work for a company selling and installing them. saddly i just rock the woodburners
  18. I had to stop watching, it was making me angry just watching!! Lovin the way the 35/ small zetor was gippin about with no problems.
  19. I had to stop watching, it was making me angry just watching!! Lovin the way the 35/ small zetor was gippin about with no problems.
  20. How many logs have I used?? Its the mother in law that has been on it!! She can burn a cube in a week!!! Rayburn 24/7!! I have one cube left and then we are on to next years wood.
  21. mst??? if so that has been sat outside for as long as i can remember, prob 4 years then
  22. "Won't release for jumps and swings". Once loaded it doesn't want to release for anything!! The distal is the law!! wouldn't use anything else now. I find it difficult when I have to climb at work with prussics.
  23. if only dogs could talk
  24. the vigas is a simple machine with only a couple of moving parts, all easy to fix. i think the important thing is not to get a boiler that is not to small. otherwise you will be filling it up consatntly. opposed to the larger one being able to cope with it easier. the guys at eco angus are nice enough. akvaterm tanks are mental good 1 degree loss over 24 hours... amazing
  25. mr sheasby? near brendon hill chapel
