  1. I have a Gerber which is now owned by fiskars. Lifetime warranty which they honour! On my 3rd replacement now.
  2. No idea why, but they are amazing at what they do. So light and quick to setup. Not much pull on them but ok if used correctly. I have a cheap 4t Chinese one that lives the the truck. Had it for years hand can't break it. Not as good as a real lugall though.
  3. I'd get a decent used saw every time over the plastic home owner type ones.
  4. Not really looked Into tesla, but 5k buys you an awful lot of batteries for offgrid living. For me budget option would be used deep cycle batteries like these https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F222920831636 If I were about to setup a offgrid cabin
  5. https://www.honeybros.com/Item/HBM_Whoopie_Sling_Antal-Ring Look good
  6. Aye monbiots at times seems highly irritating but he makes some really interesting points, especially in that book. Lots in there about land use etc.
  7. Looks great. You look really pleased with it! Have you seen that vid if that fella making lampshades from pine (or some other softwood?)
  8. Should have gone for it Matty. Got to let these things out!
  9. Blocks popping out their splice? Minging
  10. I'd be extraordinarily surprised if this was an issue
  11. Dropped the 200 out the tree today! Did a lazy cut on a sycamore with no undercut, one handing, branch sprang like a loon twatted the saw out my hand, something battered my hand, tool attachment on harness broke. Looks ok just bent bar and chain. Happened surprisingly fast!
  12. Kretshy sycamore take down today, not many targets just a few trees and old wall. Branches off by coffee and on the deck by lunch. Nice to not have to rig anything AND the client wanted to do the tidy up themselves!
  13. Totes legit on gangly crack willow
  14. Use an oil spout on it. The petrol ones break every ten minutes or so. Que someone saying they have had them for years with no problems and that they also love stihl twisty fuel caps
  15. Well you got a nice looking curve in on quiff. Fine looking truck you have there. Here is my last camper:
  16. I have heard this can wreck the front axle but cannot verify this! Had many manual hubs on hiluxs and never had any bother from in locking and locking the hubs before. Probably some excellent advice over on a Mitsubishi or l200 forum. I would ask the question there as you will get vehicle specific advice http://www.l200forum.com
  17. I would be looking at a lwb hiace with the 2.4d non turbo engine as a good option also
  18. Having owned 3 large campers ( merc 508 811 and lwb tranny) I am really really enjoying the small size - nippy and a doddle to get about anywhere in. If it's just for you I highly reccomend this size van for yet camper
  19. I have a vw t4 4x4 syncro. It's a pretty got all rounder. Yes they are insanely expensive to get into compared with similar vans of same age but like hiluxs and mercs etc they have a good rep for being pretty reliable. They also good there value well (like a landrover I expect them to be up in value of next decade). Mines just a work/ family transport/ camping missions vehicle but plenty people out there ready to convert to campers pretty cheap. Personally I am into reliable more old fashioned vehicles and don't need vans to drive like cars! Reports are that the t5s especially the 2.0tdi are less reliable and made a bit more lighter ( transmissions etc)
  20. What happens with brake? Have been impressed with saw so far. Expected it to be heavier. Seems like a 44 but with more grunt. Got it with a 36" bar which is unbalanced and I thought it'll never pull this, but seems to cut fine. Will be sticking a 24 on though.
  21. I have just got one of these saws and haven't noticed anything! Will look out for this. Is it an oil tank breather issue?
