  3. if you keep you eye out you can get older 80cc plus stihls, dolmars and occaisonally huskys for £200 or less - just seen an stihl 050 for £20 on gumtree. ideal milling saws - often no brake, but torquey and spray oil everywhere!
  4. buy sound cancelling ear defenders for everyone. definately worth finding out which tool is the culprit! sound travels in wierd ways
  5. pfffft spikes and prussik, how fancy can you get! i have just reverted to this you really know where you are when you climbing barefoot, no spikes slipping, no fancy harnesses to fail loler etc

  18. i usually tighten up clutches by hand then the saw tightens them when running no? i think that is why the are anti-normal threads on them so they don't unspin when you using. maybs snap the chain brake on when its running - might tighten it up also air ratchet works ok as long as your nor totally numb with it
  19. you sound like the dream boss!
  20. just got me a dmm hitch climber and ocean polyester. can i just confirm i used a VT and instead of spliced eyes i have tied two single fishermans for where it fits onto the oval krab - this is ok? how much tail is exceptable and shoudl i tape them? - just not sure as have never used it and the only advice i can find just says use a prespliced cord. also anyone know any splicers around Northumberland?
  21. hi rob, could you explain why you might want 3/8 lp chain on a larger saw please? thanks
