  1. agreed, its dead hard to type that with a fiat 500.
  2. listed in arbtrader, but just thought i'd mention it here. having a clear out, please help me get rid or some saws have 2 x ms 170 (30cc) available with 1/4 sprockets and a 010av (37cc) also with 1/4. can sell with 3/8 sprocks also. might suit someone starting out carving or anyone wanting a back up.
  3. it may also get more complicated if you have landy or something which laden could way 3500kg, that it might only be weighing 2500kg at the time of use, but that wouldn't mean you could pull a 1000kg trailer even though the landy is rated to as this would put your GTW at 4500kg?
  4. Chainsawbars ? chainsaw chains, chainsaw bars and chainsaw accessories
  5. when i last spoke to tree kit they only had antal (which i know make x rings) have they got beasts in again now or is it the large antal? sorry for my incessant questioning!
  6. that seems exceptionally fair price wise!
  7. sounds good, reckon steven hornby would sort you out good for one of these. this 50cc dolkita is pretty good at £360 new
  8. i have both, both on a 18'' .325. both are excellent, but i don't know which prefer. the husky seems to be coming out to play more more lately.
  9. i am looking for uk supplier of tht and beast x rings, can only find shizll antal and arbpro, would like to but proper x rings to support it need some help! does anyone splice themselves?
  10. 357 is a good all rounder...how much is second hand?
  11. don't overlook the Dolmar/Makita and Echo saws!
  12. its basically worded in way that you have to nearly be a lawyer to understand, but i think; 3.5t plus 750kg is ok on standard post 97 licence (not really recent either) as long as your vehicle is rated to tow up to 750kg (most vehicles have a braked and un braked trailer rating, for my old hilux this was a whopping 450kg unbraked and about 1450kgs braked). however the laden weight of said hilux was about 2500kg (1500 unladen) and i could i think there for tow a braked trailer with the max load (including its own weight) or 1000kg as this then took me up to 3500kg. but with this there are rules about your kerbweight vehicle v.s laden trailer weight and i forget them. don;t quote me on this check it for your self, but this is how i interpretted it "A full car licence already lets you tow trailers weighing no more than 750 kg. You can also tow heavier trailers with a car as long as the total weight of vehicle and trailer isn’t more than 3,500 kg." -https://www.gov.uk/towing-rules
  13. don't miss hadrians wall and the pennines - some good spots there, high force waterfall is worth a visit too, though not technically northumberland. i live nr allendale, where there are too many pubs, some of which are dog friendly and have good local crack allenbanks is also a great spot for walk.
  14. no idea sorry. i think there is a good chance its earthing somehow if it was working well before you changed the rings
  15. anyone know the crack with removing the cat thing on the muffler? will it need a retune after? can you just whip that bit of the exhaust out and put it back together?
  16. i think coils are hard to test. check the gap between the flywheel and coil (business card apart), you can also test the earth with a multimeter, i think from the coil to the machine (try switching the switch). can you borrow a known working coil from someone? check all your wires have no breaks or splits as the ht lead will earth out easily!
  17. yeah agree, think it looks nice with the light uncarved wood in centre. spot on
  18. great stuff, very enjoyable. did you switch to using a block when you were negative rigging?
  19. i reckon the jotul 602 is one of the best stoves i've ever used. heats up dead fast, chucks the heat out, well made, hot plate, nice old fashioned look, clean burn option, wood only, no fire bricks just replacable cast plates. well worth a look IMO
  20. just had a quick look, revving up to 13200-13400 - so reckon thats fine, could get the rev's to change by wrenching the handle about, but when the saw is hanging or tipped so the flywheel side is facing down the idle speed goes up to 3500 (from sitting at 2800). sounds to me like crank seal is on its way out?
  21. whats the best way to check crank seals? will a visual inspection of carb boot achieve anything?
