  2. i have just clocked these guys on german ebay selling non OEM stihl parts, anyonw had and experience of them and their quality? thinking of getting some bars and other bits....
  3. hi, got a dcs5000 spares or repair to nick some bits off, now i'm trying to fix it up, it has compression, a new coil (sparking good) and the carb is clean (screws are turned out 1) not firing, if i choke it or half throttle it it floods, after pulling for a long time (and periodically cleaning spark plug and pot) it will fire a couple of times, this appeared more frequent when the H and L were 1.5 to 2 turns out.) the only two things i can notice are - very very light scoring on piston (but i have seen much worse saws still run (even if only badly) and compression feels ok to good. also diaphram in carb is a wee bit stretched, but again i have seen much worse still run. anything else worth checking? doesn;t feel lumpy when pulling over, flywheel has no movement (other than roundways!) thanks in advance haven;t checked impulse line, but as its flooding i'm assuming its working?
  4. yep, shaped it with a saw them anglegrinder sanding disc, then chisels (most enjoyable bit). thanks!
  5. thanks, shame about the cracking back rest, but it has been cut for 2 years and air dried so hopefully won't get any worse. i can't help feel like spltting/green wood is a bit of an unspoken issue amongst us carvers? i have carved some stuff from oak in the round and watched it open up like a flower! redwood and larch seem to do it less though eh?
  6. yeah i was thinking that! been translating from german websites and from what i read they are on par if not better than oregon.
  7. carved oak bench what i made for some friends getting married. sorry about sidey ways images, couldn't figure out how to turn them
  8. anyone tried these Sägenspezi bars? reet cheap and thats with a chain too! but i expect you get what you pay for. but they are nearly half the price of decent ones!
  9. no idea about leaded fuel, never been around it
  10. saw this and thought someone would want it. i do and don't at the same time! Stihl Lightning Contra £320! think its not the 138cc one though what are they like for parts?

  15. i have a 22cc makita saw too. can't fault it, lighter than the 150 and it'll run a 1/4 picco chain lik ethe 150 too. strop is round the handle though, not he strop attachment - don;t trust it!
  16. Is this cankers or this syringae thingy? No fruiting bodies that I can see and tree appears in good leaf but alot of cracks, with what appears to be dead wood. Suspect it needs removing as very close to a garage. Neighbouring tree has started to crack also. What is this? Will it comprise the tree's structure? Thanks Photos coming in a minute just struggling with phone
  17. shane did you sort this? my ms361 is doing exactly what your describing!
  18. right sounds like give it a miss. snapping! FFS!
  19. need some spare spikes for rescue etc found these ARBTECHNISCH ones on ebay. they are £80 delivered. too good to be true? anyone used them? normally climb off buckingham ones but been thinking i should carry a spare set with all my rescue kit etc.
  20. its the only possible outcome after fitting a new chain!
  21. i too use a 9'' makita grinder with 9'' discs. works great for out door furniture etc but obviously hard to get a dead flat planed surface you can get 24 grit discs which eats the chainsaw marks out reet quick.
