    Smokers.

yep but general rule of thumb for lots of untested chemicals straight in yer lungs is prob not a good idea right? not saying fags are better or worse or that there e cigs are bad - just be nice to have some good research on long term use BEFORE everyones at it right?
  2. Lol i've just google nakanoto and silky images search and just got photos of you conny bashing! go on then why they better than gomotoro?
  3. 2 gaskets, a diaphram, a needle, lever and spring, maybe a "welch" plug and a gauze. i think they vary slightly
  4. those mesh glasses do anything weird to your vision or just like normal mesh? prob a dumb question.....these look good too
  5. anyone else know what there worth roughly? i don't know?

packed it in just before kid number 3 (about 7 months ago) and haven't smoked since (had a couple draws at party's etc but the taste is minging when you not used to it!) hard first two weeks now i donltthink about it at all unless at pub etc........just find myself getting bored quite often without them! sad eh?

    Dolmar

i think i had a look and the 230 is smaller diameter, but have seen the dolmar 230 or similar sold with a carving bar on
  8. i have a dolmar ps3410 which is a light 35cc pro saw. i was after an even lighter saw foe carving with maybe an 8'' or 10" R7 sugi bar. thanks though!
  9. why do you like it better then? its a bit lighter right but less power? is the 280 a home user saw?
  10. crab kits - Rowena motors as recommended by spud. and is worth a watch in terms of carb removal with simple tools

i have a 660 which is ok, but i would say ideally suited to 30'' or less if milling hardwoods. however you will get away with 36'' but i reckon its hard on them. make sure the oiler is turned up (can't think if they have them?) and i reckon every now and then let it run at half revs not pushing just to get a good bit of oil on the chain. sharp chain is the key!
  12. never used danish oil, but did you put on too thick or was the wood quite green/wet - this can stop it penetrating? i have found osmo uv protection v good for outdoor stuff
  13. got me an 084 with a duff piston, cylinder looks ok. any clues on where to get a meteor piston? i search of the web didn't come up with much. are they the same as early 880 and 088? have stihl completely discontinued parts for these or only some bits?
  14. you changing the whole thing or just doing a carb kit? either is pretty hard with only a hammer, but i would say pretty easy with some tools. carb kit is a little bit fiddlier and you need to remember where all gaskets go etc but def pretty do-able. you may well not have to replace the whole carb as this is v expensive and a carb kit will be maybe £12. i wouldn't bother with hong kong knock offs, the one i bought for my ms170 isn't great.

    Dolmar

don't know if this will work here is some pics of the dreamy little 3410 with 14'' bar. 4.6kg with fuel and bar. i would seriously reccomend getting a pro carving saw if you possibly can (don't know if ps32 is? but suspect its home user.) lighter, 35cc, potentially more durable and not much more cost.

    Dolmar

i got me a dolly ps 3410 which is like a backhandle ms200 essentially. light at 3.5kg, pricey 1/4 sprockets (think it was £30-40) but great. i dropped it out the back of my truck the other day and it didn't break which is always nice. have only used it for maybe 2 weeks solid carving so can't give a really honest review yet, but seems to be going very well. running a cannon 14'' which i already had, this was on a ms170 or 010 before and fitted it fine. suspect you'd get a sugi for it no bother.

chainsaw mill or big static one? Rob D got some good info on alaskans, double ended chainsaw mills etc.
  19. if you search for " husqvarna 550" (you'll prob need to put it in quotes to be more specific) you'll find ALOT written about 'em! personally not had alot to do with them, but they are light and pokey
  20. oh also, also, spoke to gustarts about it and they said to def not go bigger than a 170 it term of power and chain speed on such a light bar/chain.....
  21. oh also noted the nose spreading a bit too- brayed it back together we'll see how we get on.
  22. i think it blued the nose probably as i was using it a bit like a carving bar, which its simply too lightly built for, i.e to much heat in nose, it also burred up pretty quick - then the chain broke - all of which lead to me to believe i was asking too much of s £30 bar! i.e its not a tough bar. but the narrow kerf is excellent and a joy to use. i have now put it with a new chain on an old stihl 010av which has more power but much less rpm ( 39cc, 9500rpm), so i'll let you know how i get on and i'm being aware to try and be gentler with it. can you get carving bars with 1.1mm yet?
  23. i have stuck a 12'' 1/4 picco on an ms170 with a rollomatic e mini bar on. cuts class, lots easier etc. pretty quickly got blueing on nose end and broke chain after a ma of 3 sharpens. might have been bad luck but felt that the 1/4 P chain really is for tiny saws i.e smaller than 170. saying that i might have been unlucky and it was great while it lasted
