  1. So just stuff it in?
  2. Cheers bud, you told me you wore a johnny last time. Thought it felt 0.02mm thicker than the time before.
  3. My short line (started as 45m) has been cut, winched, rigged, and pulled the loaded tranny/chipper out of axle deep mud. Still does me for connies/small trees. Wouldn't use it for big stuff, but funny how the mind works.
  4. Steve, could you elaborate on that a bit more? Just out of curiosity mind. I know you're a solid climber, and I like "outside the box" ideas.
  5. Wish I could put it down to healthy living and constant shagging, but no. Pretty sure I have bird flu.
  6. There's a lotta people looking to loose a few unwanted pounds recently! I must be the only person to have lost weight over Christmas!
  7. I know, perhaps I should stop being a pedant for new year. Hardly my worst habit though. I wonder what the fastest recorded ascent on a blakes would be? Could make a good competition!
  8. Doubt he'll be doing any quick ascents on a blakes mate
  9. How old is your rope? A cambium saver will preserve your rope, but it'll take a hell of a lot of use to wear your rope with natural crotches. As for SRT, walk before you can run. Learn and become competent on a simple doubled rope system first. These are the basic building blocks that you can then further your techniques on.
  10. I think it works out around £40 a day for under 21, which is £800 a month or so. For a dependant with no rent or kids, that's okay, especially since they're learning a trade, getting qualifications etc. There's nothing to stop you paying a good candidate more. As Eggs mentioned a discretionary bonus is a good plan. Try being the nice boss who pays trainees over the odds. Experience shows it doesn't pay off. IME it's good to keep people hungry, until they're at a stage where there such an asset you wouldn't like to lose.
  11. Rubbish. If you want a good wage work hard and learn and see your wage rise. Apprentices can be attractive as you can mould them to how you want them to be, instead of the fresh out of college hot shot climber who knows the job better than you, won't take instruction, and thinks he's worth £150 a day.
  12. D splicer scissors! And a 4srt tether apparently, but it got lost!
  13. Trust me, I'm not the only one. Or have you forgotten, sweet pea?
  14. Think we're talking about different things friend.
  15. It flipping well wasn't good for my maul! Split it whilst green, same as Euc.
  16. If you get a chance it'd be nice to see a vid of it cutting some different sized logs pics of the bar mod too would be good.
  17. Funnily enough my folks lived there for a few years. When I went to visit them I noticed a real absence of anti social behaviour compared to the UK. It isn't considered anti social to have a beer on a park bench at lunch time over there. It was common to see well dressed smart people enjoying a can of the local lager in the open at lunch time. If I recall, Swiss make citizens must take part in compulsory military service from 18. Yeah, there's a 5.56 Sig in most houses, and ammunition is heavily controlled.
  18. I'm curious, has anyone had a 362 that's been used daily for 2 years without it breaking down?!
  19. Ha no thanks. Just asking out of curiosity. Lot of ringing and splitting in that!
  20. Big lump Al, nice cutting. What's the plan for the timber?
  21. Tyrannosaurs were only sexually voracious because their little arms couldn't reach their crotches.
  22. You may be surprised. I'm pretty sure I remember reading that a saw will perform better on standard fuel as opposed to the higher octane equivalent. I think it had something to do with the standard fuel detonating easier than the high octane fuel. Of course, a branded fuel (shell, bp, etc) will be better quality than the supermarket equivalent, with a lower ethanol content. How many posts before someone tells us that Aspen will run better, be cheaper long term, and make our breath fresher?
  23. Second Keith, top bloke.
  24. Fawcett Inn Cider
