  1. Arbormaster 16 strand splice for Jammydog on here. Not sure if I prefer 16 strand to double braid. Stabbed my finger on welding wire, so now it's red, white and blue.
  2. Balls. I could have done with a new chain catcher for a 441
  3. As I understand it, you can do your assessment on whatever system you like (excepting SRT perhaps), as long as it's industry recognised/approved. They'll want you to demonstrate knowledge/competence on a basic system though.
  4. Ti, Mark has a strict "four feet on the ground policy". He's a true entrepreneur in the Arb game. Don't feel daft that you're just hearing about it now, he's been keeping it close to his chest. Mark, keep on going with your idea, don't let the naysayers get you down. Bingham had his critics too.
  5. Why wouldn't you be able to use it on your 38
  6. I prefer the Ropeguide. Better retrieval due to the cam releasing and opening up when pulled.
  7. That's not Matt, that's just Anna in the morning.
  8. Couldn't the same be said for the TM? fully rebuild able, perhaps, but cost effective? No one would be interested if a hairy bloke with a beer belly was modelling it.
  9. Plus replicating mine was easy. Never needed much rope.
  10. Agreed, doesn't matter, it's coming down. Honey Fungus is always a good default, plus it means you can usually fell the rest of their trees.
  11. When you get bored you can make it into the shape of a willy on the coffee table and laugh to yourself.
  12. Actually a cracking idea bob! It'll keep people buying til the end!
  13. Midge, Go on amazon and buy the "Tree Climbers Companion" by Jeff Jepsen. About £15 I think, and it covers all the basics you'll need to start out. If you can gets yourself a couple of short bits of rope, you can practice the knots you'll need on the sofa, till you can do them with your eyes closed. From memory the ones you'll need to know are: Bowline (and running bowline) Blakes hitch Prussik Fishermans Fig 8 All simple knots, and the course should teach you them all, but if you're worried about trying to remember too much on the course, knowing these will help you out. Might want to swot up on idents as well.
  14. Don't think it's a weaver. Someone recently made a treemotion style harness with a thick webbing belt, but with adjustable leg loops etc.
  15. I've heard on here that paying subbies to deliver flyers works well... Oh wait...
  16. Yup. My lanyard is about 2.5 metres. Don't need any bigger unless I'm strapped to a thick stem, and I've got a flipline for that.
  17. He's got 3 krabs, and 3m prussik cord in his basket. Should be fine to make a lanyard from the tail of his rope.
  18. So just stuff it in?
  19. Cheers bud, you told me you wore a johnny last time. Thought it felt 0.02mm thicker than the time before.
  20. My short line (started as 45m) has been cut, winched, rigged, and pulled the loaded tranny/chipper out of axle deep mud. Still does me for connies/small trees. Wouldn't use it for big stuff, but funny how the mind works.
  21. Steve, could you elaborate on that a bit more? Just out of curiosity mind. I know you're a solid climber, and I like "outside the box" ideas.
  22. Wish I could put it down to healthy living and constant shagging, but no. Pretty sure I have bird flu.
  23. There's a lotta people looking to loose a few unwanted pounds recently! I must be the only person to have lost weight over Christmas!
