  1. I know the ones you mean, but if you look at the pic, there's a bit of metal beneath the gate. You depress that, then the back, then the gate.
  2. I don't like them. On a prussik I guess it'll be okay though.
  3. It requires 3 distinct actions to open, thus can be used as ppe. Main line, lanyard, it's all the same.
  4. Fair does, my bag is really handy for storing all the used hitch cord that'll come in handy one day...
  5. It ever cross anyone's mind that some of us would actually want to buy fake passports/currency? Oh well, guess I'll have to look elsewhere. Cheers mods...
  6. To be CE compliant you should use the Grillon replacement rope that Petzl supply. In practice any 11mm climb line will work fine.
  7. How do you store your climbing kit?
  8. Looks a bit more challenging if you want to splice a ring into each end though!
  9. I sent you that in private you bastard.
  10. You got the crotch just right. Still don't get why I had to model all those different poses.
  11. I think so, but I'm the only one in my company who does Guess I shouldn't complain when they're slow on the uptake.
  12. I fall seriously short on the social/emotional spectrum.
  13. Glad you're doing well Sean. Since you mentioned my Mrs, she'd be very envious of the cheese board Not so much the whiskey mind. Taste I never acquired. I'll stick with the Rioja that's airing.
  14. Nope, but I work in all weathers, and £40 for two pairs of socks is not a lot to keep me comfortable all year round. I've tried many, either they didn't last, or weren't warm. Heels or toes wear through. This can be a miserable job sometimes, why skimp when it comes to comfort?
  15. When my groundies do it I wait until they.'really about to get in the van, then slowly creep away, just enough so they take a couple of quick steps and a jump to get in. As soon as they jump, brake. They head but the door pillar. The irony of momentum versus an immovable object is usually lost on them...
  16. If you had sex appeal you'd be unstoppable!
  17. Only by pointing out that you meant "bored" instead of "board". One is a state of mental restlessness, the other is a piece of wood. And if you can't have a conversation without resorting to personal comments, I'm done entertaining your Saturday night argument.
  18. Fair enough Eggs, yet you've somehow managed an articulate and coherent post despite not being an academic. I left school before completing my exams, in favour of a manual career over further education. People mistake academic prowess being linked to intelligence all too often.
  19. They still bloody teach that apparently!
  20. You clearly do. Let's leave family out of it, tough guy.
  21. I know bud, I love my saws and I can feel and listen to them. Problem is, whilst i'm a competent operator, it's physically painful to hear some other div bogging a saw down and still holding onto the throttle!
  22. Sure. Plenty of people are happy with 18" on their 560s. I know you run that with an 8pin mate. Thing is, huskys seem to be lower on torque and have higher to end revs. IME this can mean faster cutting, but only with an experienced and sympathetic operator. Your 560 must require a light touch to prevent bogging. I use a 361 on a 20" too. Whilst not a ripper it's more user friendly for sure.
  23. I find in the majority of cases, poor grammar and spelling is a result of laziness, not poor education. There are exceptions, of course, but we are all taught a reasonable degree of English as part of our "Prussian education". Just because a person is in the manual sector it does not mean that a degree of intelligence is not beneficial. Feel free to ask for help if any of those words are too long for you.
