  1. These look fantastic Yve! God help my credit card!
  2. Not if you tie it tight and clip the tail end back up so it's not dangling down. I "shortened" my strop to 2.5m a while back though, so don't bother with a daisy chain any more.
  3. I've tried that one. Found it was too heavy and tended my lanyard when I didn't want it to. Daisy chain clipped up to my harness worked better.
  4. What is the prussik contributing? Clipping a crab back onto the lowering line tightens with it's own weight. With a prussik not only are you adding an extra link into the system, you have to physically tighten it yourself. Seems like it's making more work, not less. Decent steel krab on the end for me. Heavy stuff pop a half hitch in front, really heavy stuff the 18mm line comes out and use knots. Not having a go, just raising a point.
  5. I'm sure you'll figure it out.
  6. Different ends of the system.
  7. Same as Steve. 3 way swivel snap with 2.5m velocity spliced onto it, with a positioner swivel. Works lovely. Could do with being a bit longer but the swivel crab is well worth it.
  8. Must be the weather that does it. Probably less joggers and cyclists in the country that invented the deep fried mars bar too
  9. The lads take great pleasure in informing me they've ran out of brash on the deck, so I can kick it up a notch. It's a competition!
  10. Cool, I'll get in touch when I run out. Still got a fair bit though! I'd rather support someone in the industry anyway.
  11. I'll have what he's having! Prozac?
  12. My boiler doesn't make water hot enough for that! Came very close to putting a 395 on finance earlier. My girlfriend was actually egging me on! I came over all boring and sensible at the last minute.
  13. Tsb and treebay done. First time I've sullied myself by posting on either. I feel dirty.
  14. I use Red Line, I buy from Opie Oils. How do you sell it?
  15. Seems like an over complication to me. Clipping onto the rope is a time saver in itself, that purists condone as bad practice. In reality most of us do it to save time. I've never found I clipping it to be a problem. It might be that the rope is too thick to easily get through the gate. But a bigger steel crab with a wider opening.
  16. I've worked over many parked cars before. Just the same as a greenhouse etc.
  17. You sure that's not from running this site?
  18. You know that branch that sheared off in the winds and smashed that car? The one you lads are currently working on for safety reasons?
  19. Won't matter once you hit that first nail...
  20. There was a incident in America recently where a bike courier was wiped out by a falling tree after ignoring signs. We had an unlocked car under a tree that we couldn't get moved. Handbrake off, 3 of us lifted the back up and wheeled it out of the way
  21. I can't see the point in a 390. The 460 pulls a 25" bar, the 395 does 36". Just get a 28" for the 395! I know you like fast saws, so the 390 doesn't really fill any gaps.
  22. My mistake, chill bud!
  23. You're the first person I've heard saying HiFlex last well! They fall apart at the sight of a tree! Fwiw I recommend the Breatheflex. I find them very comfy, and plenty tough. Many others seem to rate them too. I've heard good things about the Kriegers too.
  24. I mustn't. I'm going to try and be good, and rise above it. Not aggravate the petulant half witted tools. Balls, I gave it a good go!
  25. I'm looking to dig a hole, it's a deep one so I won't be able to stop. Who can I ask for advice?...
